Agreed - as I said on the best of thread. I wish people could step away from the hype and actually analyse what they hear - melodically, harmonically, rhythmically, engineering-wise - not one component of this is particularly interesting or well-executed. It's bland, lazy and repetitive. But, hey, it's "raw and organic". RECORD OF THE YEAR.

It doesn't surprise me at all given the kind of 'retro' sound RA is pushing these days, but it's still a shame that we can't move forward and do new things with our equipment (which, after all, is the attitude that made electronic music once so glorious).
New for U? More like Old and done to death.

That's fair, I wouldn't be as critical if it hadn't been labelled the best of 2012. You put it better yourself actually, the best record of 2012 can't be one that's clearly designed to resemble music from 20 years ago. ...CAN IT??
