5 Magazine discusses the renewed influence of Chicago's Gemini (AKA Spencer Kincy) and how the sudden influx of interest in his work has done nothing to aid the producer's unfortunate living situation.
Dunno something bugs me here, Kincy beeing homeless and all. They guy who wrote this article and the last 2 on him never said he has solid evidence about Kincy's living situation. Everything seems to be "drama perfect" maybe the man just quit making music and just wants to be left alone. And the part about lawsuits against a several dozen public officials make it sound like his is bat shit crazy now.
The question of consent comes to mind when reading this article. Assuming what is said about Spencer's current mental state is true, is he even capable of giving consent over how his music is being used. Even so the people in charge of managing his catalog are not being consulted about the vast majority of these re-releases.
I worked with Spencer a little and got to hang out with him in the mid nineties. We headlined together in TO one night in the mid nineties, to which I will never forget. He is an enthusiastic and charming bloke, I was young and he taught me a lot just being himself. I don't like the way this article was written. Just leave it be.
