RA News
The follow-up to their popular DJ model will be released on June 20th.

Think I will try these out. Totally impressed with the TMA-1's. I had a slight problem with one pair of TMA-1's and they immediately replaced then. Brilliant customer service that I received I have to say. ThanksHippie

seriously thinking about getting the DJ versions, has anybody really tested them against the sennys?

I much prefer the TMA-1s to the Sennheisers. They're a lot more comfortable, andthey shut out external noise surprisingly well considering they don't hug your head all that much.

Seriously? Way more? Cos it'd take a 600-pound gorilla sitting on a falling piano strapped to an anvil falling on them to dent the Sennheiser's. They do look tastier than the hd-25's tho, plus I'm curious as to the relative qualities of their customer care teams, having been somewhat underwhelmed with Sennheiser's in the recent past.

Got the TMA-1's and love them. Never thought I would find anything better than the HD25 but these are.

They're far less harsh at high volumes than the HD25 thanks to the frequency dips

anyone know what rimowa he's using?

Think its this (expensive) bad boy.

32 ohms. Will sound great in a laptop, but will they work well on a solid output analog board?

I would strongly recommend TMA-1 too.

I just wish I felt as confident pronouncing AIAIAI...

all I will say is, Sennhieser HD25's are the better than the TMA1's. The only difference is that the TMA1's look a bit better to some people. I personally prefer the raw industrial look of the HD25's, but thats just personal opinion I guess.

for studio headphones I would advise the Beyerdynamic DT770's, flat, clean and true, all that is ever needed for studio use.

They do seem be exhibit 'style over substance' to a degree; frequency responce charts and reviews all indicate a dipped top-end, and hence an over-prominent bass. The sound may be to some peoples' taste, but for listening/producing, neutrality is desired; and for djing I presonally mix with the hi-hats/top end for accuracy, so dark sounding headphones wouldn't be ideal.

I'll stick with the HD600s for listening/prodution duties and M50s for djing/portable music (with a portable headphone amp).

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but figured I'd post this just in case anyone is still considering buying these cans. I've had mine for less than 2 months and have put about 30 hours of use in them. First of all, the sound is mediocre, despite what reviews may have said about them. Sometimes I think people just need to justify spending a ridiculous amount of money on sub-par headphones. But fine, I could live with the mediocre sound, as I've definitely heard worse. All I do with these headphones is put them on, do some production work, take them off, and leave them on my desk. I don't travel with them, so there is never any stress put on them. Today, while simply taking them off of my head, the damn headband snapped right down the middle. For $259 (when I bought them) I expect something to last longer than 30 hours.

Just a word of warning to those of you who might buy into the hype like I did. I basically rented these pieces of shit for 2 months at a rate of $130/month. Dammit....
