| #5 / Thu, 28 Jun 12 18:17 Interesting listen. I like the fact that his parents had a lot to do with his progression within music and let him hold parties in the family basement! He lost me a bit when he went off track about the languages etc, but I get what he was trying to say. I do wish he had let Todd finish his questions before answering though.
He is the Peter Pan of electronic music.

|

 |
| #16 / Thu, 28 Jun 12 21:06 @ danzig : I think they are referring to "plosives" as they are known in linguistics - basically sounds that are emanated with a puff of air from the mouth like the "p" in popsicle or popcorn. This puff of air can overload the mic a bit and cause distortion. Usually this is prevented with a pop filter on a microphone, a low cut filter, increased distance from the subject, or all three.

| #22 / Fri, 29 Jun 12 00:04 I love this interview. The best I ever heard from any dj. An excellent reminder why we are here (on this earth and in the clubbing scene). Ricardo Villalobos deserves a Nobel Prize for peace because of the unity and empowerment he continuously recreates through his music and his humanitarian position. Thank you Ricardo, Todd & RA!

Yeah, I thought popping e's would be more of a concern than popping p's.

Please lets not cheapen that award further by giving it to Ricardo, it was already bad enough when they gave it to Obama. Its supposed to be given to people like Martin Luther King Jr. not people who throw lots of parties and make records.

For sure, it reminds me of the Real Scenes:Berlin video where Dimitri Hegemann talked about Tresor providing a place for people to escape pressure and competition of normal life.

Its only a political and economical system that makes you believe you have problems with these or that person, but the reality - and the music shows it - is that we all belong together and we all come from the same culture. This is the sad thing when you see, then, suddenly 'yeahh this guy is really dangerous, he wants to kill us all... ' THIS IS BULLSHIT!!"

Ricardo is a great musician but he speaks total bullshit.
He just needs money to live his fucked up lifestyle.
