Not quite agree with Kazantip on this list. The good times are over there....After 3 years of break, I went there again last year and it was not good anymore. it's too expensive for the ucrainan people nowadays, therefore the dancefloors were most of the time empty....even on the second saturday night - too few people. Furthermore you can feel the influence from the german television channels reports, who have claimed the festival to be a sex-tourist-place. consequently, a lot of stoopid men-crowds were attracted by the festival, who have no respect for women. If you choose to go there, be sure to go for the Opening Ceremony - that is really a overwhelming experience!

Let me partake in this discussion about the Kazantip, as a person who are coming from there, and who have been there 5 times. I agree that during the last years the festival has seen a big change, it became more commercial, let;s say more profit oriented. But it does not mean that the line up is sucks ! the last year line up was great, and the dance floors were NOT empty. Janosch, i would agree with your point of view, and to some extent you are right, but in this particular case during two weeks of being there, i have NOT noticed the empty dance floors! One thing that i could possibly agree that it became too expensive, sometimes i think that quality does not correspond with the price....here i mean quality of accommodation, but not the quality if the festival...
But anyway i think that the decorations they made and the way they designed dance floors is worthy huge respect!! there is no smth like that in Ukraine and whole Russia... and neighboring countries as well!
About sex tourism, have never heard before that Kazantip was positioning itself as a sex festival. This year the festival will cerebrate its 2o years anniversary, and from the very beginning the idea was to give people freedom, they could be naked they could have sex everywhere they want, but it has neve positioned itself as a "sex for tourists" festival.

I hope sonne mond sterne is sunny for the germans this year, great festival.

@ Purplex - I was only refering to the last year. I was there from the opening and then stayed ten days. Maybe I was a bit generalish, but you have to confess that some dancefloors were very empty compared to previous years. But the second saturday night was really strange, there was no queing at all for tickets and very few people on the dancefloor.

Concerning my comments about Sex tourists: I was not speaking about the organsiation who have claimed itself a "sex paradise". There were just lots of primitive germans (among others) who have no respect for women....just my feeling...

I absolutely agree with you, the line-up was great - some really cool acts - and also the decoration and stages have really progressed.

For anybody who's never been there, it could be interesting, but I haven't had the fun that I have in 2007 and 2008.....
--> On the boddom line, the trip of last year was worth it if only for the day parties and the fantastic everyday sunrise....:-))

@purplex - why should not it be safe? like any other festival, keep an eye on your money/camera/keys and it will be fine) have had no problems there so far)
