On Saturday 21st July Synth City returns to The Sun Lounge terrace teaming up once again with BIG ROOM DRAMA for another epic night of underground sounds.

This month we welcome DJ/Producer and Maquina Music label manager.... DIRTY HARRIS.

Championed for his eclectic hold on the wider-picture in Electronic Dance Music, underground warrior Dirty Harris made an unforgettable mark on 2011. Juggling the raw Tribal Tech House influences that launched his career with a determinative hand for peak time Progressive House bangers, a vivacious enthusiasm for his craft has seen him set the standard for integral releases and hard-hitting club outings to an all-time-high. Having launched into the industry with gold medal remix of Funkagenda’s ‘Afterclub’ for Toolroom Trax, a further 3-track EP for its Leaders of the New School offset indicated the British producers ascent was more than just good luck. Encapsulating the integrity and charisma of the UK underground scene with every solid club injection, the Birmingham based DJ/Producer is one of a dying breed of British Dance visionaries.

From well-groomed House cuts for Strictly Rhythm to outright Progressive bangers alongside ThreeSixty for Funkagenda’s Funk Farm, Dirty Harris has made his mark on some vital imprints. Donning ‘Polaris’ to Toolroom Records and ‘Manta’ to popular offset Leaders of the New School alongside ThreeSixty as early as 2010, what ensued was a universal understanding that Harris could cater to a multitude of sounds and imprints.

With further formative offerings for Seamus Haji’s Big Love imprint, Manuel De La Mere and Alex Kenji’s Hotfingers label and bonafide Techno stronghold of Umek’s 1605, the industry has shown little signs of disputing his across-the-board appeal. Gaining a thumbs up from Tiesto on his Clublife radio show for ‘ ‘ and boasting two top-30 Beatport assets for Funk Farm, even the likes of Funkagenda, James Talk and Superskank have donned their own wit to Harris’s sturdy studio output.

Dirty Harris has remained as closely concerned in the mix as he has in the studio. Promising indicators came with the inclusion of the mighty ‘Louka’ in Funkagenda’s Radio One Essential Mix live from Space Ibiza, while an authoritative mix for Northern Ireland’s biggest music station Cool FM and a formative mix for Global Dance Sessions in 2011 have all given light to his undefeated knack for precisely tuned sets.

But having scaled the realms of Space & Bora Bora Ibiza and Club Home for Amsterdam Dance Event 2011, further promising international exploits in Miami and Brazil for 2012 are sure to see Dirty Harris extend his already promising global appeal throughout the year.

As one third of elite British House imprint Maquina Music, an elegant output of diverse talents from across the industry has established them as firm favourites of the likes of Richie Hawtin, Mark Knight and DJ Chus alike while proceeding to make a unignorable dent in the industry. Leading the way for 2012, diverse collaborative effort alongside Matteo DiMar for ‘Silverback’ and monumental Progressive offering ‘Dokana’ alongside ThreeSixty indicate that the consistency in Harris’s output is set to continue for the New Year.
