"Dependent and Happy will be released on 5X12" in three parts and contain a total of 14 tracks, all of which are previously unreleased. It will also be available as a mixed CD, albeit with three less tracks"

Nice but also Perlon now starts to rip of vinyl customers. devided in three releases! Why not one big for 50 Euros?three will be about 80 or so I quess... Terrible. Already the way how the last legowelt album is sold is a rip off. now they start with big names... sad .. especially when you think that mr villalobos says he provides vinyl....

I don't know that happened with the Legowelt album, but you've basically guessed a price and then said it's terrible. Best wait till it's out before complaining about being ripped off....

Anyway, this is great news, it fair made my Friday evening when I saw this! Just a shame Word and Sound don't have any audio clips to whet the appetite.

on deejay.de its about 45€ for the 3 releases. and i think its better to sell them each, because if you don't like one release you don't have to buy it, like for example with the cocoon compilation.

Oh, you're in America. Yes actually, in the states those days are quite dead, but in relevant EDM cities vinyl is still quite big.

Yeah, I know. a "mixed CD". Not the individual tracks. If you want those you have to go vinyl. Or just wait until someone gets it, does a high quality rip, and then download it from the net.

No one in the states cares about vinyl vs digital except the other DJs that insist on only playing vinyl. :)

Au contraire, I know several non-DJs in the US who prefer vinyl and know OF many, many more as well. It's quite the hip(ster) thing to do these days, and there are lots and lots of such folks across this country, from New York, Boston, Philly, DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Austin, Portland, Seattle, San Fran, LA and many many cities in between.

Back to the release, would truly love to hear Ricardo again fulfill his massive potential on this. Will wait till a bit after it's out to decide whether to take the plunge. Fingers crossed...

Let me rephrase a bit - No one in a club can tell the difference between someone playing vinyl and someone playing audio files from a laptop or CDJ. (Assuming they aren't using crap needles, crap turntables, or crap encoding. Or you can't see into the booth) Yes, there is a fetish like scene for vinyl the past few years but it's slowly fading in the states from what I can tell, not that I'm an expert.

That all said I don't understand why labels still push vinyl only agendas. (Yes, I know about the mix cd.) I guess it gets us talking about it more - Tail wagging the dog - but it really limits the opportunity for people to hear the music. Not saying there shouldn't be vinyl, it's horrible, or anything of the sorts. Just limiting in such a way is counter productive.

... but back to the release. :)

Cause everyone knows that vinyl is just inherently better than CD or digital.

Just like video tapes are better than DVD or Blu-Ray.

Looking forward to the vinyl release...and I'm from America.

Pretty sure Forced Exposure in the US will carry the distribution so those vinyl fans can get their fix in the states.

To be fair I agree that if you're putting out a mixed CD of the album, why not put out a CD with the full lenght tracks too. This would definitely sell a load if released as a proper CD album. Obviously for whatever reason Villalobos and Perlon don't want that line of revenue. I supoose fair play to them for sticking to their guns?

kinda lame that i am forced to buy a mixed cd, with less tracks, as i don't own any vinyl....typical perlon snobbery i suppose.

I love mixed albums, so my preference would be a 2-cd release with the mixed and unmixed tracks. Oh well.

Is it really? Is'nt vinyl being made today from digital files as source anyway. So i guess there is no difference at all

please stop spreading misinformation, legowelt released teac life as a whole 4lp pack some months back, if you look hard enough you can still find it for under 40 usd, only a few weeks ago separate parts started appearing in shops

to people who have been into vinyl all along it never disappeared and then became hipster again, its hipsters like yourself who worry whats hip(ster) and what isnt

i don't get this. everybody is allowed to buy vinyl, it's not just for people who are 'into it.' i've never heard of any restrictions on the sale of vinyl.

if the full album is only available on vinyl, then buy the vinyl surely?

Its what continues to set them apart and make them stand head and shoulders above the rest....

If you prorder it at deejay.de, for example, it will cost you you 17,52 for each double, and 8,35 for the single - makes 43,39
so, where is the ripoff?

99% of electronic dance albums (yes I realize Villalobos barely has anything to do with dance), half the tracks suck and all of it sounds the same

Vinyl is what started it all... Jeff Miils, John Digweed, Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold... All the legends spin the wax... #legend

Vinyl in 2012 is a reflection of wabi sabi, none-other-than, beautiful sad. It's something deeper than mp3s, CDs, ipods... It's a soul thing...
