| #1 / Wed, 18 Jul 12 15:43 Absolutely dumbest time to have a festie. When everyone is crippling broke from the xmas period. Some decent acts though

| #2 / Wed, 18 Jul 12 17:14 Well if you're buying the ticket now, not such an issue? Also, good to do fun things in the most depressing month of the year!

| #4 / Thu, 19 Jul 12 08:44 We went this year, was a brilliant weekend, and id recommend it to anyone, hopefully the event can grow from strength to strength.
Personally I think it's good to have something in January to look forward too after Xmas / new year...there is also no festival competition for the event to compete against unlike in most other months of the year so probably makes business sense (and I'm sure butlins give them a good deal taking it over for that weekend...seemed to be no complaints this year anyway:-)

| #6 / Fri, 20 Jul 12 13:51 andy155, sound restrictions in the chalets? or in the actual bars for the djs?
as far i could see butlins security was very easy going the friday /saturday nights , we were quite loud (7 of us in an apartment), but never had any complaints from the staff.....they were monitoring people on the sunday night as crowds wandered about looking for after parties, probably just in terms of getting people out the place on the monday to get it cleaned up...
in the bars/clubs the djs/live sets were on...sound was fine especially in the main area..bit surreal seeing jackmaster etc playing in a pub called jaks though:-)
as i say, we all enjoyed it, & considering going again next year...would say the crowd was mainly london/south east of england, not many accents from outside that area...crowd was also bit young, 18-25 if thats an issue for you/your crowd..everyone was really friendly though...very good natured event.

| #7 / Fri, 20 Jul 12 16:39 Cheers for the info. I'm interested in going but trying to be more cautious about festivals after spending money on hotels and tickets for Bloc this year. This one sounds good though, just depends on the line-up now.

| #11 / Tue, 09 Oct 12 15:13 This was excellent last year, exceeded expectations! Security and staff were ridiculously safe, I think they were relieved to have a load of happy partygoers in the resort instead of having to deal with pokey families and snotty nosed kid's! Highly recommended!

| RA Review Given the achievements in their 18-year history as a club night, it's hard not to arrive at Bugged Out Weekender without some preconceptions. I mean, Daft Punk requested to play at their fourth birthday party. And Cajmere's first UK show? Jeff Mills' first Ibiza appearance? They might have the sloga..

| #15 / Tue, 05 Feb 13 13:19 weatherall & smagghe, were definitely my highlight, closely followed by daniel avery, scuba, chem brothers, blawan & justin robertson. frankie knuckles was superb as the closer playing tracks such as the whistle song, tears...(just house classics
the weekender this year was a great few days away to brighten up the shit month of january, got to say well done to bugged out for stepping up the whole event from last year, better promotion/production and orgnisation about the event this time. would say that although the review mentions no big surprises, i'd wager for most of the people there (the age range is quite young), probably their first time seeing people such as Frankie, Weatherall etc
Our second year at the weekender and probably be there next time around, definitely recommend the event to anyone.

| #16 / Tue, 12 Feb 13 16:42 this was a fantastic weekend again! I was pretty much glued to the main room, as the sound and production was far superior to the other rooms (I especially loved the 2 stonking F1 rigs!)
For some reason the security were amazingly safe for the first two nights, then overly zealous (especially at the entrances to the arenas) on the last night- not sure what that was about.
but yeah, a brilliant weekend down at Butlins, see you next year!
