Joy Orbison, Boddika & Pearson Sound - Faint cover
RA Review
From the supremely lopsided "Mercy" to the lurching thrust of "Dun Dun" Boddika and Joy Orbison have been the best kind of weird, and release number three on SunkLo continues that trend—this time with a special guest.

definitely some weird and confusing elements here, but all three tracks are dope city nonetheless

One of the best releases from the duo so far me thinks.

The tracks are good but they could have been better. Another release involving Boddika & Joy O that work more as 'tools' than full tracks themselves. That is why I get excited when I hear ripped clips from their mixes, on youtube, but not as much by their full versions.

Hype aside, this is pretty good.

Its alright, won't be long before you never want to hear that gimmick sample again though. Stylish production, little musical content.

Hello. This is me tired of the same sounds from this duo. Maybe it will work in the middle of a session, but I can't listen to those tracks right now without yawning.

I got this on Vinyl Pre Ordered on Red Eye. Still Waiting on it! Hopefully it's in the mail today.

Did anyone get lucky enough to get a copy of Sunklotuu?

Weird components, knowing Pearson Sound's style, and yet it kept recognizable beat.....

The break with the weird acid squiggles in Moist that sounds like an insect trying to communicate something is hilarious. I mean that as a compliment.

Yup.

Bar the track with Pearson Sound, it's not great. Feels unfinished and already a bit of a tired project. I'm sure it sounds better as part of a mix as opposed to stand-alone, like Mercy.

Dun Dun on Tuu is the one for me, one of the best tracks of the year.

This one hasn't grabbed me but got a copy anyway. I tend to find these type of tracks grow on you! Especially when you hear them in the right context.

Its right that Andrew focuses on the music in his review, that's his job and probably is sent a free promo copy to do so-but for the rest of us who want to support this music-this release and label-the other part of the story is the totally abusive situation of having to fight over the purposely limited vinyl pressings with speculators. In order to generate hype? This 'limited copies!' trend does nothing for the love of music.

Not a bad EP but one of the weaker releases involving Boddika & Joy O... The previous releases on this label were much stronger...
