Thanks Todd. Should have guessed it had something to do with Carl Craig ;-)

Decibel sounds like a great festival, have to add to my growing list of festivals to go to.

Thank god for this man bringing quality electronic music to the once starved Pacific Northwest! Thank god initiative 1183 passed and the iron curtain has been lifted from our communist liquor stores! Keep fighting the good fight!

was okay last year, hate the heat of an overbooked venue, I-CUBE show was too fucking packed. Also some of the lineups of the showcases were questionable. It would be nice to have some mellow stuff and upper stufff mixed together. For instance, the Amon Tobin show, jesus all the openers were super maximal electronic, by the time the Amon started I was already wanting to go and chill,, would have been a dope show if it started with some ambient into mid-tempo into Amon. Also the Optical showscases were cool, but sitting for three hours (in not so comfortable seats) to ambient/experimental is just not the ideal venue. See: Tonalism at Henry Miller Library in Big Sur 2009 for inspiration.

That said, the line this year looks fucking dope!

@ Cutehead79. Sounds like you should start a festival :)

yes man, spent the last 15 years doing research. :-0 Some small shows here and there. If I can get another mate to come up this year, I'll give it another go and try a different approach to fest. Peace out!

getting my first db on this year, stoked.

This was great! I love your approach to the idea of a festival. It's lile you are a dj on a huge scale, instead of picking records you are picking whole events to compile a journey for the week

Really love what you guys are doing for the music scene in Seattle. I have lived here my whole life and it is cool to see you guys opening the eyes of alot of people who just hear funky/disco house.

Hope to meet ya in person some day :-)

No, no silly. not just Seattle's best but America's. I'm with Deepchild, one of the best I've played at and one that I've been attending since day one.

Yay for Decibel!!! "It's the most important underground music festival for North America" says Modeselektor.

Check out this trailer with a bad ass minimalist track...
