Anything the includes A Winged Victory FTS gets my vote, let alone when it contains Yagya and those other beauties. Win !

made it up to the eno/cluster track - loving this so far.

a very sweet, personal array of sounds - listening to it makes me feel like i'm stuck inside the end of a david lynch film.

will be on repeat for some time...

"listening to it makes me feel like i'm stuck inside the end of a david lynch film"

That's maybe because he drops the "Twin Peaks" intro track!

yeah no shit. you're right. he "drops" the twin peaks "intro track". thanks for pointing that out to me...

FFS.

first of all, i said "david lynch film", not david lynch TV series.

and in regards to the feeling, i was referring to the overall arc of the mix - not a single song.

btw, laura palmer's theme doesn't serve as the intro music to twin peaks anyway, as far as i recall. you don't hear it until the first scene of the series.

watch again.

fantastic little journey. I love how it builds in the beginning with everything sounding very neutral/happy, then have the tone shift to something more dark but not too heavy. I fell asleep before the end but I loved every bit that I heard, even if I didn't like the specific track, it just felt right in the mix.

any other recommendations for similar DJs/Artists? Preferably DJs or compilations because I don't want to do the work in finding all the great tunes. It sounds arrogant but I have enough genres that take up space in my music discovery time, I'd like to have some ambient to decompress, not a chase for the next great thing. hope that made sense.

@ adamm, i can recommend an excellent series on mixcloud/soundcloud, by my friend mike jedlicka.

a few of my own mixes are up there as well, i'm sure you'll find plenty of listening material.

Tracklisting doesn't seem to be complete. There's several tracks missing.

Does anyone know the tune at 57:00 to 63:00?

The tune at 52:00 to 57:00 is also unlisted on the tracklisting, though sounds like a Sight Below tune.

Seems like the tracklist is slightly off. Two tracks aren't accounted for and to my knowledge the Johann Johannsson is never played on the podcast.

[00:00] Harold Budd - Sandtreader
[05:00] Angelo Badalamenti - Love Theme from Twin Peaks
[10:00] Bohren & Der Club of Gore - Maximum Black
[18:00] A Winged Victory for the Sullen - Requiem for the Static King, Part Two
[25:00] Scanner - Vertical Line
[32:00] Cluster and Eno - Für Luise
[36:00] Labradford - WR
[42:00] Biosphere - Sendai-1
[49:00] Yagya - Rigning Fjorir
[52:00] ID
[57:00] ID
[63:00] Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto - Trioon i
[68:00] Arvo Part - Fratres for Strings and Percussion

This is not a poor work, but Rafael needed more time to sit near tracklist which for me is too much clear and understandable, whole internet is full of shallow ambient mixes. RA is the right place to show some unrated and specific music, to reveal some hidden talents and their music to the wide audience. Also twelwe non rhythmical records in about 80 minutes, I think it's weak and hasty selection. I wrote this comment because I've seen so many respected artists and record labels posting this article on RA. But is it worth it?

The selection is obvious, and - even for ambient - the mixing is a little slow. Could be more interesting with some extra tracks. I love Maximum Black though, highlight of the podcast.

I didn't expect a 'drop' as such no. Not really for me this one. I appreciated it - very beautiful as I said - but not a favourite. I can see why so many people dig it though.

i agree the selection is a bit ho-hum but maybe works as a good intro to the genre which is fine i guess. go and check out his live release on bandcamp, way better than this mix.

awesome mix - loving every sound. Some tracks from artists that I haven't listened to in a long time. Am now off to find other mixes from this guy!
