When Leon first presented his debut album to VIVa boss Steve Lawler it was comprised entirely of straight up 4/4 house productions. Lawler duly told him to go back to the drawing board, encouraging him to express his tastes and offering him complete freedom in the process. With that, Leon came back..
I first got into Steve with Lights Out vol 3. I remember it didn't get the best reviews but, I loved it. To me that was the start of Electro House at the time. I skipped viva because it is 3 disk "too long" Viva London was good but, too much swooshin for like 3 hours. Viva Toronto was pretty epic though. Some really good minima.
I like this Leon's use of keys in the background of his own work.
