In my day, being on the guestlist meant you got priority entry... admittedly that was in Wales; and when I was growing up, we were behind London by about 5 years (remember when bounceres cared what kind of shoe you wore to a club?).
These days guestlist barely means anything. Promoters seem to throw it around willynilly. Should this trend continue or should promoters and venues go back to a day when guests had a modicum of awesomeness by being on the guestlist?
I think this trend should continue for sure, but promoters should be more selective when they give guestlists. It has to be anadvantage, that not everyone has.
A guestlist is only good if it actually works. Few occasions I have been on a guestlist and then directed to the guestlist queue which is same length as standard queue.
