Hackneyed is a big word for such little qualification. Herndon's concept is only familiar when hazily reduced, as she presents tangible performance systems and arguments toward exploring the concept far beyond the familiar 'wouldn't it be cool if we talked about the future and shit' level of engagement. I would agree with the idea of Movement as proof of concept though, looking forward to what's next.

On my best of 2012 list. Movement is a record that keeps drawing the listener back for more. Like Laurel Halo and Julia Holter, Holly Herndon joins the ranks of women pushing the boundaries of electronic music towards experimental and pop. Highly recommended.
