Pretty abstract music but not for every kind of a day or a cup of tea... or coffee and specialy for my mood this Monday morning and going to teach philosophy and sociology to the kids. Maybe some other time, btw there are some hidden gems on this one.

That's right, the people don't come because you grandiose motherfuckers don't play shit that they like. If you played the shit that they like, then people would come, simple as that.

I think he's referring to the end of the interview. Vessel seems intent on a steak dinner :-)

Now that a breath of fresh air. Without a doubt, one of my fave RA mixes in a long while.
Great to hear an Akira Rabelais track sneaking in there (and Charlotte Sometimes, as previously mentioned by Duckenfield).
Excellent mix.

I saw him play at the Holy Other release party - some awesome tunes, spaced out weirdness coming together into awesome 'techno'.

Wish he'd come back with some more Baba Yaga stuff (Vessel & Kahn on a tripped out slo-mo future garage tip). Easily the best work of all his many aliases.

love it! I must be listening to a different mix than some of you.

sarcasm aside, I think it works great for late night sessions.

This mix is fantastic. Love the echo chamber effects and how well Vessel mixes the hauntological, techno, and post-punk. It reminds me of what Shed attempted to accomplish on Shedding the Past: a marriage of old aesthetics and new techniques to create new music that is more than the sum of its parts.

I can't say on the basis of this mix alone that I agree this is proof he's one of the genre's most brilliant new minds. He hasn't exactly invented a new style here. But this is definitely a very unique, fascinating mix.

BTW, is it just me or does the tracklist read like a survey of boomkat's featured releases and reissues for the past six months? I mean all we are missing here is something from PreCert and something from the Pan label. Not complaining. Just saying.

What an awesome set! Haven't heard anything this good in ages. The mixing was superb, you arranged the tracks in a very clever order that made the set sound like one beautiful story. Listening to this felt like watching a movie because the tracks blend together very well just like the scenes of a movie. This is some intelligent music made by intelligent artists and mixed by an intelligent DJ, way to go Vessel! Great stuff you got going on. Keep up the good work.

This was very, very good, generally and I will definitely be looking out for more by this chap and his many aliases, but:

I found the garage references a bit tiresome.
The bursts of "poetry" were a wee bit trite too.

Also, I heard a lot of sounds which I associate with Druqs era Aphex Twin - am I alone in this?

Fuck. Haven't bothered to listen to an RA podcast for a while but randomly gave this one a go. Haven't slept for about 30 hours. Staying up now only to finish this mix. About halfway through. This is an insane mix. It is really, really fucked up and really, really good.

I listened to this mix while walking through Brooklyn at night during an epic rainstorm. Perfect soundtrack to a somewhat creepy walk.

There's some right good post-apocalyptic, picking amongst the debris and salvaging the remains shit going on here. Smart.
