Having come full circle, the ‘Social Scene, Clubbing Experience’ has peaked in popular culture. With more significance given to name dropping and pimping Facebook names (strictly for tagging purposes of course), busy scenesters are spotted posing for party snaps and twirling ice cubes with cutesy straws whilst drumming up conversations such as ARE YOU GOING TO ......? DID YOU GO TO....? DID YOU HEAR THE LINE UP FOR...?

The scene has evolved greatly in 30 years, and as much fun as it is has been and will be forever, the time has come to return to “ the experience “.

This New Year’s Eve, Sydney based House Solution has secured the services of one of the most influential and anticipated icons of house music in the world from New York, MASTERS AT WORK (MAW), featuring Little Louie Vega and Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez. The night promises ‘Six Decks, Two Deejays playing Back2Back and One chance to experience!’ Together for the first time in Australia, MAW tours off the back of their 20th anniversary celebrations and shows in Ibiza’s Ushuaia Beach Hotel for Luciano’s residency and the much talked about Carl Cox50th birthday at Space:

It’s apt that House Solution would champion this special night, as fellow veterans grounded in 40 years experience between them. They have been providing a safe place for their perceptive 25 to 50+ audience (that makes up Sydney’s cultural mix) to come together to interact in a club environment – an experience that starts from the front“door” and culminates on the dance“floor”.

The venue will be transformed into a place of dance with an intelligent and innovative use of audiovisual components, musicians, dancers and Dj’s. Headlining the night will be Masters at Work, who simply shepherded dance music down new paths with their inventive production style and imaginative feel for different musical forms redefining the way we think of music in clubs as they defiantly mix house, hip-hop, funk, disco, latin, afro, jazz – into a universal groove! Their productions, which number in the hundreds, include such a diverse range of artists, Bjork to Donna Summer, Daft Punk to George Benson and Janet Jackson to The Bucketheads and so much more.

Dj'ing with MAW is Antonio Zambarelli who has skilfully guided the development of house music in Sydney over the last 20 years holding the principal residencies at HOME Sydney (1998-9), House Solution Wharf 8 Parties (2000), TANK Nightclub (2001-5) and Zeta Bar (2005-12). The live music will be led by Toño Marquez of Chilean descent. Having recently come off tour with Jessica Mauboy, Marquez is an incredibly talented percussionist who had his first professional gig at the age of 9 at the Basement in Sydney. The dancers will be led by Ben Sofowara from the USA who has travelled the world taking flexibility and dance to groundbreaking levels.

New operating hours will be from 7pm-2am as venues permitted operating hours. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. MAW's set will be moved forward to 10pm (minimum 3 hour set). We are more than happy to offer a full refund of the purchase price on the ticket (for those who have bought tickets prior to 12/12/12).

"VENUE CHANGE" Housesolution Pres. NYE 012 Masters Of Work (MAW)

Why the "VENUE CHANGE"….

Our initial discussions with the previous venue in early November, 4am was the finish time. We were very happy to work with that and needless to say very excited! But it seems that the powers that be want the majority of the city to close at 2AM on NYE!! We were informed by the venue a few weeks ago the permitted operating time was 2am. We tried to work through this but steadily the feedback reinforced what we already felt. We needed to find another venue with a later permitted operating time. Fortunately, we were able to find a venue with a 5am licence at short notice. The details are below - thank you for your understanding and patience… Despite all the amendments we do have an INCREDIBLE night in store with one the best “House” Music Production teams on the planet over the last 20 years who defiantly mix, house, hip-hop, funk, disco, latin, African and Jazz into a universal groove.

Venue….
Over two levels and a laneway (including smoking area). Civic Underground and Civic Saloon. Entry via 64 Goulburn Street, Sydney. Easier transport (including Taxis), Easy Parking, Avoid the stress of the rest of the city closures etc.

:: Civic Underground Club Room in the Basement $120 Ticket, 11PM – 5AM. Will feature an intimate set from MAW between 1-4am to an audience of just over 300... This will sell out fast!!! It’s an Underground Club space similar in feel to Cielo in New York with booths, an impressive sound and lighting system. The vibe in here will be electric! These ticket holders will have access to ALL areas.

:: Civic Saloon Ground level $40 Ticket: 11PM -5AM. Featuring a pick of Sydney Best Dj’s and also features a flavour from MAW’s set from the Underground by a live music feed into this room. Therefore it’s a great inexpensive way to enjoy NYE til LATE whilst still getting that MAW feel throughout the room. These tickets will not be granted access into the MAW room unless capacity allows after the MAW set for example.
