Im not to sure how much it is to hire brixton acadmy probably pretty expensive.. however at £50 a ticket I expect to see some killer production. Awakenings & Timewarp tickets are cheaper

Looks good

lol XOYO listened to you Slayer

why are so many people complaining about the price, go make some money, 50 is nothing for the quality of music you hear or the party you get.. just stay home and listen to your ipod for free and stop moaning about being poor

Why are so many people complaining ...

Check out .. www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?400293 ...it is 10 vs 40!

Seriously, this party in Brixton Academy is expensive and the start time sucks! We can hit many other day parties much earlier.

Circo Loco needs to bring some big surprises out of the hat for this one ... first of all is now a New Years Night (NYN) not NYD party and the line up while some big guns only has one room and are still 2-3 Circoloco 2011/2012 names short. Where is Dixon, Klock, Alien, Villalobos, Appollonia, Art Department, Jamie Jones ....

It is hero or zero time for Circo Loco London this time round ..

Circo Loco London will you "thank and bank" or "taking things to the next level?" .. DC-10 2012 style?

pahaha! 50 quid?! I went to this party 2 years ago and it was 15... that said, this was back in the day before circo loco was a money hungry fuck and was still underground. went dc10 this year and was full of twats and the worst circo loco I have ever been to. Death of a promotion is what this is! the line up is bloody average as well!!!!!

wow, £50 for an average lineup. In this day and age i thought it was only the EDM crowd that paid this kinda money for a NY party.

Still, 727 members attending so they have got their money and ppl are mug enough to pay it when there are some killer lineups elsewhere, check out the HYDRA gig on the same day. that spanks the arse off anything else and they have just announced henrik schwartz and shed. AND it only cost me a 5 FUCKING POUNDS!!

As long as ppl keep paying the money, the longer these gigs will go on and the weaker the lineup. If the dj's are playing 2 gigs in one day u can bet they wont be giving it big time, too knackered or disinterested.

Trouble is these days, ppl just role over and take it up the arse. Promoters can treat the punters like shit and they continue to take it, so why wud promoters change? they got ur money!

Wow. What a venue!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot seriously believe that by charging £50 per ticket, this is covering costs without making a disproportionate profit. By charging this much, the promoters are bringing Ibiza senseabilities to the UK and using NYE as an exploitative tactic to make profit. How can HYRA, at this stage, be charging £12(exc bf) for a equally good line-up. I think this is nothing more a disgrace; making this event exclusive rather than inclusive. Boycotted.

How can circoloco justify this after there hop farm stunt aswell... They now have the cheek to ask for nearly £50 a ticket for a under average line up for a circoloco party!!
Brixton academy has a capacity of 4,921. You do the maths ? Feel free to buy a ticket if your stupid enough to be robbed off greedy promoters and spend your nyd with idiots that are only there cause of the name not for the music !
Circoloco need to hang the promoter who brings it to the uk out to dry. They are slowly but surely killing its name

Wellll hopefully that will draw all those that don't care about music and more about the name

You can tell so much about these kind of events from the comments on this forum.

I'm glad this infiltration hasn't affected the rest of the UK's clubbing scene.

The best part about this is the fact a large proportion of the tossers in London will be in attendance. If only there were several of these that day.

P.S can't wait

Hot natured last year smashed any party, it's on Jamie jones Facebook mate lol wikid venue in pulse aswell lovely. You get your pants pulled down by circo ;)

All people do is moan about who's going for what ... Have a day off .... I went circo Birmingham circo hop farm and circo dc10 closing, so what I don't hold it against any 1 who didn't. but what I will say is £50 is a lot of money for entry considering the price of drinks at venue and double priced cabs that day ... That's the facts rant over

The whole point of a new years day party is that you dont get yer pants pulled down and your bottom pummeled over prices... Circo Loco was once an underground event for underground music lovers at decent prices (compared to everywhere else in Ibiza) - they are letting the wrong promotors (greedy cunts) push the brand in England and this is the result - a eye watering price. this event would cost in excess of 300 quid with drink and cabs thrown in... stick it in yer arse you money hungry fucks! The good news is that hot natured will bury this big time, all the chavs who were attending this shite will go there now instead. #justsaying.

Its annoying seeing the circo loco paarty advertised when its not the circo loco core people doing the party but just using the name.. hope it doesnt get hammered to much as it already has been of late over the country!!!

GLAD CIRCO IS HOLDING THERE YEARLY NYD PARTY AS IT WILL KEEP THOSE SHUFFLERS AWAY .... TRUE RAVERS WILL BE HEADING TO NOFITSTATE OR HYDRA ... END OF!

Just to answer a few of the comments on here:

- This party is more expensive than last year, for a number of reasons...

1) Brixton Academy is a very expensive venue to hire, not only do you pay a hire fee, you also have to pay for the floor to be made flat. Unlike other warehouse parties on the same day, we take no revenue from the bar to offset the cost of the event.
2) All the headline DJ's we have booked command a lot more money than the same time as last year.
3) We have to hire a Funktion one soundsystem as well as lighting, lasers and all the extra production, as the venue doesn't provide these.
4) Also remember that over £7 of the ticket price is going on booking fees and postage. Then from the money remaining 20% goes straight to the government in the form of VAT!

We could have chosen a smaller venue and the ticket price would have been cheaper, but we feel Brixton will be an amazing setting for Circo Loco, nowhere in London has a main room quite like it, and its quite rare you get to see these DJ's playing such an iconic venue.

One further point we'd like to make - All the DJ's are booked by the guys that run Circo Loco in Ibiza, they also look after all the artwork and are heavily involved in the production of the show. We source the venue and look after the promotion of the event as it's impossible for them to do this not living in London.

At the end of the day if people think the event is too expensive, they will vote with their feet and not come. Anyone who knows how much these events cost to put on knows why ticket prices in London are going up, because these shows cost a lot of money to produce.

If you look back at events 20 years ago a standard all-night rave was £15, a big event was £25+ booking fee. At the same time a pint of beer was £1.30 and a packet of 20 cigarettes was less than £2. A pint is now over £4 and cigarettes are £8 a pack, whereas the entry parties to parties hasn't increased that much. Unfortunately if people want to go to parties with great production and with headline DJ's at the top of their game, its going to cost more than £20 to get in, especially over New Year

obviously you people dont know anything about business, you think it doesnt cost much to throw a party? last year it cost this, the year before it cost this.. wow you sound like the elderly
CIRCO LOCO WILL BE FANTASTIC AS ALWAYS

Ultimately - the Prices are in downward trend. You can get to see some top Dj's in london for £5-10 if you're quick. There are nights on over new year which are relatively cheap. The question is, would people rather have a shit venue or not but have to pay an extra £25 for the pleasure if wanting something a bit fancy.
With so many great nights now in one off venues i dont think people are that fussed about the venue itself, as long as there is adequate space, air-con and a dent bar/cloakroom. I can understand circo wanting to be glam up the party but at a risk of alienation of its followers, when perhaps a cheaper venue would actually be OK, considering we spend all year getting rinsed by the government.

Some good answers and thanks for making the effort.

The flat dance floor will be worth the effort but why can't you start earlier in the day?

You should really consider the RC1 soundsystem but can they deliver for a venue that size ... step outside the box for the soundsystem on this one ... we know you can deliver. It will need to be a massive function one with mega subs.

We are all looking forward to 1 to 2 more surprise Circo Loco big names to be added to the line up -- you can deliver for sure. DJ

final suggestion: Afterparty at the MS Stubnitz please ... they should still be in town.

Unfortunately the venue wouldn't allow us to start any earlier than 9pm, and as the event is on a Tuesday they had to apply for a special license just to open until 5am - otherwise we would have gone on longer.
Having said that, the last two years we have started at 6pm and there has only ever been a few hundred people in before 9pm, so although people may want us to start earlier, the reality is that after New Years Eve, people don't always get there early! :)
We've got our production crew all over the sound, so you shouldn't be disappointed on that front.
As far as the line-up goes, you never know who might be in town on New Years Day...
Stubnitz would be a great shout for an afters, but it's a long way from Brixton!

The 2nd isn't even a bank holiday. Who fancies work 2 hours after this finishes?

Or are you all unemployed?
