i'm not sure how you can write an article explaining what filters do without including a single frequency response plot... :)

btw, EQs *are* filters. there is no difference. "filter" is a fairly generic term; an EQ is usually just a string of certain types of filters (peak or shelf) in series.

You have obviously never synthesized anything, you'd get nowhere without filters.

Also, they serve a different purpose to EQs when djing as the cut-off point is continuous and not fixed like an EQ, allowing for greater flexibility while layering tracks.

Agreed, they're really simple, but that's what's great about them for me. This should be a more regular feature!
