 | RA Review The sheer depth of Drexciya's influence makes it surprising that it took this long—founder James Stinson died just over ten years ago—for the Detroit pair's material, much of which was only previously available on limited-run, poorly pressed vinyl and crackling MP3 rips, to be re-mastered and reissu..

For real! They would sell every last copy of it. Same goes for the Other People Place album.

| #19 / Mon, 07 Jan 13 16:17 '$100 Gift Certificate to anyone who can tell us what the good Drexciya track is!!! (Hallstrom that includes you!) I know this one is going to ruffle some feathers but I don't care. I don't understand the infatuation with Drexciya. Every white kid that comes in here talks about how great he is yet can't show us what dope track they have done. I've listened to the comps. I've listened to youtube videos and mp3's people have sent me and I don't get it. It just sounds like mediocre techno to me. I will never understand why they get the praise they do. '

| #20 / Mon, 07 Jan 13 16:26 To be fair some of it is stupid, some of it is genius. For every "Andraen Sand Dunes" there's a shitty Drexciya track out there

| #24 / Tue, 08 Jan 13 20:19 Try Seaquake. It's a rumbler. You sound pretty against them so maybe it isn't for you. Hype aside, they don't necessarily cram all their goodness into 'one track' (this 'best track' is quite a rockist view) but created a dense atmosphere and mythology across a slew of tracks. Ah, who cares: you're closing down anyway.

| #25 / Tue, 08 Jan 13 22:05 How great "he" is? They were a duo, you numb nuts. Deep Sea Dweller on UR or Powers of the Deep on Clone for me; but their legacy also extends further; try individual releases like the Shifted Phases album on Tresor, or Der Zyklus, or The Other People Place. If you still don't understand, its because your ears are up your anus, with the rest of your head.
