you would hope this kind of thing might stop people being so hateful and divisive about dance music. It might not be to your (or my taste) but this was just a case of two young people having a good time listening to the music that made them happy. I wish people would expend their thoughts and views on the music they like rather than going on and on and on about the stuff that they hate.

Seconded. When you stop and think about what actually happened here it's quite striking.

That's all fine and dandy, Samir, but don't you think Aoki and his ilk share some blame given that they jump off of stages, push an attitude of hedonism for its own sake, and seem to pack places with crowds that more resemble an '80's hair metal show than anything I've ever been a part of in 17+ years of going out? To say that music has everything to do with what happened is idiotic. But to say it has nothing to do with it is also idiotic.

While his music is pretty far from what I play and listen to, I can't blame Mr. Aoki here; this falls squarely on the promoter(s) and venue owner(s). I've managed operations for large festivals for years, and one of our main jobs is to design fire exit routes, escape/contingency plans, and manage crowd logistics. There should never be a "too late" action plan, because you plan for the worst from the get go. Investing this time and forethought into detail is what makes you a real event producer instead of an amateur who throws mega-raves.
