Johnno Burgess of the long-standing UK party counts down their best (Daft Punk, Erol Alkan, Cajmere) and worst (Newcastle, Ibiza, power cuts) moments of the past 18 years.
To the best, I want to add pretty much any Bugged Out! night at Sankey during the mid-90s. I went religiously every week. It was always amazing, as much due to the residents perfectly warming up the crowd then letting the headliner destroy the place.... surgeon, laurent garnier, gemini, hawtin, carl cox, andrew weatherall, justin robertson, the advent, chems. My brain was never the same again.
their reign at Nation in liverpool was a truly awesome experience also. and in my eyes the best they had.
Sankeys was great and i loved it, but when they moved to the nation it became a one of a kind party that couldnt have happened before and has never happened after. 3 massive rooms on amazing phazon sound systems with nearly 4000 people listening to intense underground music till 6 in the morning every month for 4 years or so.
In all my time clubbing i have never exeperienced anything like it before or after and is easily my favourite ever bunch of parties.
Could you imagine a night now, completely rammed with thousands, in the northwest including the very best of underground techno and electro?? unfortunately never again (and dont say the WHP, that shit aint even funny)
