fuck crosstownrebels, visionquest and any label/artist affiliated with seth troxler and similar. 5 years from now they'll be a distant memory.
they're all boring. sites like this make it easy for them to ride the wave. but none of them will last, their wave will break and the new 'hot shit' will come along and RA will do a front page feature on it and pat themselves on the back for being ahead of the curve once again.

Crosstown have been doing the same shit for 10 years , to say they are riding a wave is a bit much. Lazarus has been playing and producing this kind of hipster house for years and I'm sure he'd still be doing it if no one bought into it (because they didn't for years). Trends come and go but you can't blame labels for being popular for doing what they have always done.

dude we get it. cannot understand how people can get so genuinely angry at artists they don't like. "utter useless cunts" is aggressive to the point of comical. the majority of the criticisms on here sound more smug and self righteous then the hipsters they criticise.

| #69 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 07:31 @jamewyouern - track 20 minutes before the end is "The Craze" by Prosumer.
@theaz - track at 15 is "Discretion (Jamie Jones Generic Handbag House remix)" by Yesterday's Men. Yesterday's Men is a supergroup comprising of Art Department, Seth Troxler, Lee Foss, Lee Curtiss, Damian Lazarus and everybody that ever released on Hot Natured. The track was written in 2 minutes while Seth Troxler was in the toilet. You can actually hear some samples of Seth in the toilet during the track. The track is also interesting for the fact it took less time to write than the actual duration of the track as the group utilised the new Girls Will Love It VST plugin from LinPlug. The plugin is able to generate generic handbag house in the Hot Natured style, the user simply provides a key and tempo. It also features a patented "off key vocal" effect to get that genuine Art Department sound.

Complete bullshit. Listen to Laz's Families mix from 2004, nothing like what he plays now. Listen to anything that was on Rebel One. Crosstown is nothing like it was 10 years ago. Once Laz moved to the States and started hanging out with people like the Droog crew, Macey Hotel crew and so on things went down hill. Hunt down some Jamie Jones sets circa 2005, nothing like what he plays now. People are entitled to change though and those guys aren't getting younger so you can't blame them for wanting some cash and picking a popular sound. Crosstown nearly went under when it was pushing its old sound, all be it mainly due to some problems with their distributor but still, I'm sure their bank balance is much healthier with their new sound.

| #80 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 10:31 Let's make something clear.
I don't hate anyone... guys like Seth Troxler, Damien Lazarus, Jamie Jones, etc are good djs and producers, and I don't blame them for their success, let them have it. This guys also do their own thing and I'm fine with that. But I don't like this podcast, so my "Boring" thing is about that.
I find RA podcast to be about something new and specially produced for RA readers. Don't get me wrong. I just think there are lots of podcasts out these days, so RA and people who mix podcast for RA should start to make special podcasts, something conceptual. That's all.

Even if Art Department did menage to find some time to record this mix, due their hectic schedule, new tracks, old hits and special edits doesn't make this podcast special. But anyway, who am I to complain... it is free to download so shut the fuck up Datzee

| #92 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 17:04 Pull the hate out of your ears y'all. Don't look at the track list, don't train spot. Just listen to the mix. Really good stuff here. Seamless transitions along with great tracks that work well with one another. LISTEN to this mix. L-I-S-T-E-N. This has been much more UPLIFTING rather than sleep inducing. And in some parts hypnotic in a deep house funky jungle sounds vibe. Crazy good.

| #100 / Wed, 05 Dec 12 07:44 Some good tracks but overall a mediocre mix. Some tracks drag on and in. The 7 minute stupidity that begins at 1:00 with repetitive iterations of trite "don't try to _____. That's impossible. Instead_____." Total horse shit message and annoying as fuck.
