An early contender for the I Don't Have The First Fucking Clue What I'm Talking About award. Bravo!

| #58 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 13:37 This is a joke seriously, I don't see the point of making a voting poll, we already know that people have awful tastes, what's the point of making a survey...

| #61 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 13:41 +1000000000 Dean ... I dread reading people's reactions to this poll every year for precisely this reason. I can't even bring myself to go on Facebook yet because I already know how horrific the news feed is going to be looking for the next few days.

Do you have any actual evidence of this?

 |
| #70 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 13:57 Good to see some fresh faces and DJ only types pushing up the list e.g. Bicep, Jackmaster, Ben UFO.
Deetron, Move D & Steffi should all be higher IMO. There's a few people who are getting a bit past it yet still clinging on quite high. Also the odd popular producer pushing up higher than their DJ skills merit. Some people still need to understand the purpose of the pole!
A decent representation overall though.

| #71 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 13:57 I would also like to express my outrage at the vote being dominated by more mainstream acts.

Seems to play out much more as a live act than as a DJ. Shame not to see Floating Points on the list as I thought he had a great year and has really impressed when I've seen him. Would liked to have seen Ben UFO a creep a little higher as well. Can't really see why some people are shocked as it's all pretty much as expected

Scuba knocked my socks off at warehouse project earlier this year I was also there for that and Scuba smashed it. I'm sure if someone of Scuba's quality didn't actually 'DJ' it would be outed by now. Scrolling through the 80+ comments on here I've not come across one nice thing to say yet. Music is music, it's free, like what you like, and if other people like other stuff then get on with it, and get on with your life. You're all so busy trying not to listen what everybody else is listening that you just might miss something/someone amazing. Ignore the hype, listen to what moves you. And most importantly, stop fucking whinging!

| #84 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 14:29 RA IS STILL THE BEST LIST! LIFE COULD BE WORSE, look at any Beatport List! Marco Carola should be TOP 5 DJ not in the 11th Spots. Luciano at #23? Nobody must see his sets at Ushuaia (Ibiza) or Pacha (Ibiza) . I missed Ibiza this year but I have listened to all too many sets. Who are 70% of the DJ's on this list. Why don't you look at the tracks they are spinning? Look at the DJ's who put out as their Top 10 monthly track favorites! This is not supposed to lool like a beatport list! Where are Kaiserdisco - Cesar Merveille - Luca Bacchetti - Uner - Guti - Mendo - DJ Chus - Dennis Ferrer - Michel Cleis - Stacey Pullen - Sergio Fernandez - Santos - Pezzner - Miguel Migs - Kate Simko - Tom Flynn- Zoe Xenia (DJ/Electronic Live Music Singer? DJ's spin hot tracks! Guti, Kaiserdisco, and especially UNER were on everyones "Deck!" You could let me choose from Cadenza & Desolat alone and I would be happy! If your spinning BPM (Playa del Carmen) , DEMF/Movement (Detroit) , or you can hold down Space (Miami) for a 8 hour set you are a Top 100 DJ. This list does have amazing talent but the order is terrible. To the aforementioned DJ's that didn't crack this list . Keep doing your thing! making money, and feeding us the beats and tracks that get us through our days and make us want to vacation to see you. I could have added 10-15 DJ's more deserving. Lets see what this list looks like in 2013. A DJ spinning tech house - techno - deep house - minimal amd anything other than dubstep, trance , and cheesy progressive house should be a prerequisite. For those asking where are Swedish House, Skrillex, Tiesto, Avicii , and David Guetta? You need to be looking at the beatport lists not RA! Those artist have their niche ! it's bubble gum top 40 cheese operating under the name of electronic . Yes that's why they make millions. Simple minds require simple and boring pleasures. This January BPM (Playa) will have the sickest talent. REAL DJ's will be busy spinning the festival!

| #87 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 14:34 Posted by allyy How is Eats Everything/Lee Foss rated higher then Marcel, Tama, Steffi, Prosumer and Levon. Tell me. (Oh yeah the list goes on with Harvey, Craig Richards who is an underrated DJ by many, Move D, Cassy...) This list is shocking, I assume this is what people vote for and not RA's opinion so fair enough not gonna judge anyone. But still... Shocking.
(So Richie is now a promoter basically, therefore he is number two?)
You must be new.

| #98 / Tue, 04 Dec 12 15:02 essential faq concerning the annual ra poll:
Q: where's my homie x / trending/mainstream producer y / veteran dj from the olden days z? why isn't he featured on the list? A: because he didn't get enough votes. this might be due to his low profile, the fact he doesn't dj at all (as in: never) or the rising suspicion he has passed his prime (and you’re being a tad nostalgic).
Q: (groundbreaking / skilled insider) dj x ranking below (wellknown/well-loved if slightly less adventurous) dj y? are you kidding? A: underground icon does not a chartstormer make. mainstream consensus rarely matches/rewards trailblazers.
Q: position 50-100 are far more interesting than your top ten/top 50 djs – why did you mess up the ranking? A: nobody messed up the ranking. the poll is a popular vote reflecting a consensus among a worldwide audience. but seeing as (compared to other polls & audiences) a lot of ra-members are active members of the scene there is reason to believe cutting edge djs might be recognized by their peers and therefore enter the top 100 even though they aren’t household names yet. for further details see above.
Q: why on earth did dislikable / airheaded / sell-out dj x make the list while diamond geezer dj y did not? A: though popular vote might be influenced/determined by sympathy most of the people voting won't personally know their favorite djs or maybe even never have met them in the first place. their vote might be based upon (big room / festival) performances or even streamed mixes and – to a lesser degree – the portrayed image of said act through channels such as ra. also they might like/fancy different characters or judge a personality by different standards.
Q: why does the top ten seem less meaningful/more hyped up every year? A: this might be due to the fact that electronic music's popularity is ever-increasing and at the moment still spreading around the globe which in turn means a lot of people voting might be new to the scene and/or lacking profound insight into the techno / house tradition – or you in turn might be growing up and attaining more and more hindsight / discerning judgment.
Q: if this poll does not reflect actual performance or achievements but merely presents a watered-down consensus, why do you keep doing it every year? A: because of all the response (i.e. debate & traffic) it creates. vice versa: why do you carry on reading and assessing it?
