| #201 / Wed, 05 Dec 12 00:46 Well said m_gda. I'm not happy we have a Tory government but respect the democratic process nonetheless and just have to accept that it was the majority's decision. At the end of the day, the likelyhood of someone having the exact same tastes in the same genres/ sub genres of dance music as me are slim. Minimal tech is my thing but I've got an appreciation for most genres and accept that house/ techno artists are always going to have a bigger following.
On a positive note, it's good to see some recognition for guys who are really deserving of it like DVS1, Jackmaster, Sam Paganini etc who's careers can only be boosted by their inclusion. If Seth Troxler is number 1 or 100 he is still going to be in demand by promoters across the globe (not that I'm a fan). It's guys like these who don't command the big booking fees that these lists are all about.

| #202 / Wed, 05 Dec 12 00:53 I think I'll use my comment to address some of the hate in this section as I personally think there is far too much hate in dance music (I'll probably get loads of hate for doing so but who cares, for all I know I'm talking to 200+ trolls with nothing better to do than post hate on a poll). Regardless of what you think of Seth's DJing abilities (I happen to think he is a superb DJ because I stood next to him for most of the duration of his set with Craig Richards at Fabric and he was probably the better of the two, which is saying a lot because Craig is also a fantastic DJ) he is probably the most committed to DJing out of everyone on that list. He asked one of his managers to fly from London to New York to sort out his VISA to play 1 gig in Brazil (not a tour, 1 gig: most DJs would have just cancelled). He has also played far more gigs than anyone else on that list (which is probably why for anyone who doesn't understand how a poll works is why he got No. 1: because more people have seen him play), and as far as personality goes he has one of the best out of everyone on that list. One of the nicest DJs I've had the pleasure of meeting, very welcoming when I introduced myself and let me hang with him for the rest of night, some other DJs on this list would have probably told me to fuck off if I tried to introduce myself. And whoever said that tits post was a likability ploy: if you paid any attention to what he posts he always posts joke pictures/status'. Also whoever said Ben UFO & Jackmaster don't deserve their spots, as far as I can see they are the only two on that list that are just DJs, not producers. Their whole careers revolve around finding good music to play and perfecting their sets. They are top blokes and fantastic DJs (if you were there for their 8 hour back to back set you'd understand). So to say they don't deserve their spots is more stupid than trying to fry chicken on a hob with a Pyrex baking try and then wondering why you woke up in hospital the next day.
THANKS FOR READING!

| #208 / Wed, 05 Dec 12 03:59 Shame to not see Danny Howells anywhere. There are many good djs on this list (and a few head scratchers) and i'm not knocking anyone's choices but there are very few here who could play a 12 hour set and keep a crowd like Danny can. Great to see Donato Dozzy in at 62. Bravo!

You just sound like a hater.
Google "armin tribal feel". AVB pretty much defined the Tribal Trance genre.

| #218 / Wed, 05 Dec 12 06:43 Armin defined Dutch uplifting trance, not tribal trance. Armin's tribal feel usually doesn't even sound tribal and on top of that most of his tribal feel remixes suck.
Oliver Lieb is more tribal trance than Armin "10 minute breakdowns" van Buuren. Tribal trance isn't even a genre, tbh, so this argument is moot.

We'll have to agree to disagree. As you say it isn't even a genre. To me AVB's Tribal Feel mixes are what people are describing by tribal trance. You are probably thinking of what I call psy. I think these kind of "genres" depend on where you live too. BTW - I was talking about a user called Tribal Trance and my point was they were trolling with a name like that on RA. Whatever Tribal Trance is it has no place on RA.

| #220 / Wed, 05 Dec 12 06:51 can't believe people STILL don't know the difference between an artist playing LIVE or a DJ SET.
it's obvious that people posting/voting aren't particularly fussed about WHAT is being played, rather making their opinions through the vibe of the party - which is a fair judgement.
who is this joker slagging off ben ufo? listen to his hessle shows and tell me he's a shit DJ. the guy is a wizard and a true DJ, he digs out the most obscure tracks and mixes them with classics flawlessly. definitely MILES ahead of the game imo.

Well I think EDM has exploded to the point where most fans are au fait with the technology behind it and realise there is very little difference between they way people play live and how they DJ. Genuine old school DJs are few and far between these days. I also think people are over those old school DJ skills, DMC winners are virtually unknown whereas in the old days there was a high correlation between the best DJs and people with those DMC type skills. Hearing someone manually mix something is a bit underwhelming when 5 year olds are doing it on their XBox.

| #241 / Wed, 05 Dec 12 10:58 I've seen Eats Everything play this year, found his set very generic and edging towards cheesy. Out of the current crop of British DJ's Ben Ufo, Jackmaster, Joy O, Floating Points, Pearson Sound, Scuba, Oneman etc. would all wipe the floor with him.
LOL @ peoples outrage at Nico Jarr & Shackleton not making the list , they play live & to my knowledge neither of them ever grace the decks at all.
My favourite selector this year was Levon so congrats to him for making the list.
ps. Where is Burial in the top 100 dj's??!

| #242 / Wed, 05 Dec 12 10:59 Every year the same procedure.. big discusion about this DJ list. Simply its a result of voting names from the audience... Its no suprise that not every DJ is mentioned.
I personally missing a lot of good techno DJ´s First of all Mike Parker.... And what should Speedy J, Function, Sandwell, Efdemin, Cio D´Or, etc.. think about this list.
Its a list of popular names (Tini ????) and this have nothing to do with quality... But also there there are a lot of well deserved DJ´s in the list...

I don't think you've been listening..... Seth was awful, he kept train wrecking his mixes, and I mean train wrecking big time. His tracks, while on their own they could perhaps hold their own, but put next to Craig's selection and impeccable mixing, were simply average at best.
