 | RA Review Blue Hawaii are an interesting case for the creeping influence of electronic music. The Montreal duo's last few releases of wispy folk-pop featured synthesizers, but they still felt like window dressing to music that was rooted in other traditions. Not anymore—Agor and Raph have discovered dance mus..

| #2 / Mon, 11 Mar 13 13:20 I was just about to come on here and post about this.
I'd never heard of these guys before this album was released and so I very pleasantly surprised when I listened to the samples before buying it. On further listens this album has grown more and more. The qualiy of the production is really something special.
Overall an oustanding album.

| #4 / Mon, 11 Mar 13 21:28 Olos you've sold it for me! Grimes is a new discovery for me and I've been looking for similar stuff. Looks like I'll have to give this a go!

| #5 / Mon, 11 Mar 13 23:07 *They are from Canada. So let me give them a 4.5*
*Maybe I should review releases from Drake next and give them 4.5. Now that would be something new*

First: is 'Sleepings with Ghosts' Sec: You're absolutely right! I though the same thing... Perhaps an inspiration/influence of that album?

| #9 / Tue, 12 Mar 13 21:30 So you don't think the album is worth 4.5?
By the way, listening to a rip on Youtube will really not do it justice.

I think I was quite clear on this album not being 4.5. Oh Wait! Maybe I should buy Grado headphones; that'll do this album justice! Anyway, if you are enjoying this album, good for you.

I haven't heard the album but I know where electric.isle is coming from. Ryce is basically Canada's one-man-electronic-music-hype-machine at this point, and while I think it's cool that he wants to garner more attention for artists from his country, and it's not like he can ever match up to, say, the UK hype machine all by himself, he's been overrating some pretty average shit from there for a while now and it's reached a point where I take any review of his that has the words "canada" or "canadian" or "montreal" etc. with a grain of salt. That said, I will be checking this album out, but that's mainly due to the positive reaction in the comments.

I'm not saying you have to like the album or have the same opinion as me, I just think to claim it only got a 4.5 because the reviewer is also Canadian is a bit off the mark.

| #20 / Mon, 18 Mar 13 18:56 thread-fight aside, this album was not very good, and certainly nowhere near a 4.5/5. just my opinion, give it a listen yourself, but be warned.

| #22 / Thu, 21 Mar 13 19:34 lol 'be warned'! What should we be warned about? Either you like an album or not, not really necessary to warn people.
For me, this is the best thing I've heard in a while. I'd agree there are elements of dub techno as well as dubstep and minimal techno. It all works very well.
