Gah. That's Christmas fucked for everyone I know that isn't a Kraftwerk fan. Oh well. They can get a soundcloud upload from me, instead of anything tangible.

60 quid!!! What in Gods name.

Worth every penny as this will never happen in London again and a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear their productions in this format : )

Sorry but 60 quid a show is a complete piss take, add booking fee onto that and it's nearer 67. Why was the MOMA show only 25 bucks (£15)? Dusseldorf was cheaper than this too. A sad state of affairs imo

£60 for the best gig/concert you could ever go to. It's a no brainer.

Wonder if the ticket booking system will cope this time...

I think I may try and go to 2 of the gigs. Definitely rip off Britain prices though, as for Dusseldorf I'd have gone to 4 of the gigs, but their booking system put paid to that idea.

I'm willing to pay you the entrance fee if it isn't.

Unless you've seen Hendrix or The Beatles the offer will stand.

kraftwerk are pioneers we all know that - but does that give the right to charge such a fuckling exorbitant fee just because its them and because they are one offs. In my opinion, no. Unless ur a hardcore fan, i would imagine it wont be much of a spectacle and in fact rather dull. I have most of their albums and altho i enjoy them i refuse to be drawn into that sycophantic bullshit ppl fall into because of an artists status. i saw new order once, in the pissing rain for 2 hrs. i used to love them but they were shit boring and blue monday being their encore, was a mess.
£60 also denies the chance for people on a lower budget to go appreciate these guys and only the elite would pay - i think this is a sad situation as potentially their music will remain with the people who are already familiar with their music but not allow any room for introductions to those who are not.

But have you seen Kraftwerk perform? I'd imagine not. Believe me they are worth every penny.

In his review of last week's concert, Alex Petridis says: "I don't know why four middle-aged men standing in front of laptops is so incredibly exciting… but it is. It absolutely is."

Glad I caught them in 2005 when it was a bit cheaper. Also, given Alexis Petridis is an Indie kid who has had very little interest in promoting electronic music EVER - I couldn't really care what he thinks.

Not knocking the Guardian in general though - they've really upped their game in the last couple of years.

Not surprising that Petridis and the Guardian would be all over them - they've gone from pioneers in the very truest sense to the establishment-sanctioned electronic music act it's OK to like well into middle age, while much of their music remains quite unbearably twee.

Could be wrong but the NYC shows were heavily subsidized (read: made possible) by Volkswagen, hence the cheaper price. Not sure if they were involved in the Tate thing but from broswing the Tate website it looks like an inhouse production.

Read this review of Kraftwerk at the art gallery now. It's by me and it properly fucking shits all over the Guardian one.
