Yes indeed, I know for one fact that he made most of Loco's and Tini's work. You can just hear his sound coming through on it. Too bad (or just not) he's more of a background guy, one of the most underrated producers there is.

Too bad (or just not) he's more of a background guy, one of the most underrated producers there is. How do you honestly honestly know what records he worked on, assisted (engineering), and full on ghost produced? Im not saying I don't agree, I'm kinda playin devils advocate. But how the fuck do you really know what's what? Answer this without mentioning the thing ur probably most sure about which is, I'm sure is, that Buttrich co-produced or assisted and did post on all Dice's records. Which is also alleged what exactly his involvement was/is. I'll give you full credit for everything about Buttrich's value, def one of the best. Not really underrated, dont let the some what putrified US dance music culture fool you. Like you said he's a quiet guy. He's internationally respected big time. P.S. What Berghound said was the most foolish thing and most ridiculous allegation I've prob ever read on a forum. I'm sure he's a great guy but that was so fkn stupid, I'm tossing and turning with laughter! Absolute foolishness. I could go on and on. My god if Horatio heard that he would curse him the fuck out lmao No disrespect just good fun Cheers

Yeah, I've to agree with you. I've read a couple of interviews of Buttrich in which he is explaining all of the processes, like Dice and him sitting together in their studio in New York where Dice's album has been made (7 Dunham Place, which is the adress of the studio as I'm not mistaken). He really talks of it like he made almost everything but give the credits to Dice. And I don't know, if I hear Dice DJ'ing, it's more of the generic tech house, whereas his album goes really deep and for me it's the true definition of tech house. Furthermore, if you compare it to tINI's album, it really sounds the same in terms of musical style. But I don't know, I can be wrong and Buttrich is just helping them out, but to me it just sounds like it's Buttrich who made everything whereas tINI and Dice are giving ideas and stuff like that. I'll give you full credit for everything about Buttrich's value, def one of the best. Not really underrated, dont let the some what putrified US dance music culture fool you. Well, I'm coming from The Netherlands but even here most of the people think that Desolat is just Loco Dice, but Buttrich is the sleeping partner. And I do believe that he is the mastermind behind it! I bet you have heard some livesets from him? His style is so unique... Even made a Sugababes tune a long time ago: youtube. com/watch?v=QHCNTXTYUQk&hd=1

 | RA Review Five years is a long time when it comes to electronic music. Back in 2008, minimal techno was just past its zenith, and towards the top of this pile was Loco Dice's Desolat, a trusted imprint that had earned its stripes through bona fide classics such as "Ribcage" and "Watamu Beach." Place those two..

| #11 / Fri, 15 Feb 13 13:07 Loco Dice, Timo Maas and probably a bunch of others wouldn't even have a career without Martin Buttrich.

Man, I really miss his old stuff; the stuff on Bush. Funky war techno. "Riding on a Storm" "Shadow Lounge" Mix of Green Court's "Follow Me" "Eclipse" Back then I could've played an entire set just of him and Jark Prongo's various aliases.

| #13 / Fri, 15 Feb 13 21:17 Buttrich is the Martin Gore of Desolat, although, some early 2013 compilations have been very regular or deceiving, I think this one has a couple of good tracks, my favorite is tini“s 'Room 305', actually have a weekly mixtape with this song, have a listen at sc/james-dwarf.

| #14 / Sun, 17 Feb 13 09:11 Room 305 is top track of this compilation, at least in my point of view. Theres few good tunes also, rating 3/5 is absolutely accurate. It all sounds better in the mix.
