 | RA Review After the cryptic teaser of the duo on the swing set, the press release manifesto, and now a 13-minute video to accompany its release, you might forget there was actual music behind the Knife's reappearance. But that's Olof and Karin Dreijer for you. The brother/sister duo's material as the Knife..

| #37 / Fri, 12 Apr 13 13:13 01. Raging Lung
Is the favourite so far but I expect that's because it's the most 'normal' and traditional Knife track on there.
This a really good album so far. It's definitely a different direction for them and secretly I was hoping for more Fever Ray but I should've realised it wouldn't be like that.

Cool story bro (you giant shitposter) Anyway, been a big fan of Karin and her philosophy for years. I was excited for this one and I honestly think this album is probably some of the best (and weirdest) work they've done to date. Also loving the clanky percussion on some of these tracks, especially "A Tooth For An Eye".

| #42 / Sun, 14 Apr 13 19:40 (Edited: 14 Apr 13 20:59) Album is OK-ish. Can't really say it's that innovative when compared to comparative contemporary alternative-pop music or their previous work though. Raging Lung and a Tooth for an Eye are quality tracks and among their best work in my opinion.
But Jesus Christ that release video is 13 minutes of pure, uncut, premium cringe. I understand Sweden is the cradle of cultural Marxism, and brother and sister Dreijer might see themselves as standard bearers of international feminism and all that jazz but this in-your-face, pretentious, hastily produced video reminded me more of an art-project of a community college freshman than of something co-created by the person who brought us OAR003-B.
Is this release targeted to confused 13 year old bisexual schoolboys? Or is this 2meta4me/3edgy5me?

| #46 / Tue, 16 Apr 13 07:02 People will swallow everything if pitchfork and RA appreciate it. The worst album of The Knife.
'Perhaps for someone who only heard Hecker and Oneohtrix Point Never in terms of ambient music recently, ‘Shaking The Habitual’ will not disappoint even with the amateurish approach to the subject or even this kind of children’s approach meet with enthusiasm. The culmination of unforgivable sins is ‘Fracking Fluid Injection’. As the comment I suggest listening to Megafortress ‘My Favorite Girl’, which was released on the EP more than one year ago.' | #48 / Tue, 16 Apr 13 13:28 I agree with the negative comments here.
It´s a 2/5. And yes, when first sites like pitchfork and RA okays it, the (undeserved) hype will grow even stronger.
People just want to be fooled. It´s a bit sad

Opinions differ, there isn't always a particular reason behind someone liking an album that you don't.

| #50 / Tue, 16 Apr 13 15:41 I was pretty blown away. It's emotive, listenable, and pushes the envelope; a difficult combination to find. Whether the ambient tracks standing alone are 'amateurish' seems not all that relevant when the album is listened to as a whole. Maybe my opinion was subconsciously swayed by positive reviews but in the end we're all grown ups and can make up our own minds. So piss off with all your hype talk.
