Mano le Tough - Changing Days cover
RA Review
During the past four years, Irish-born producer Niall Mannion, better known as Mano Le Tough, has built a reputation for florid, sprightly house music with tracks like "Mountains" and "Stories." For his debut album on Permanent Vacation, he's streamlined his sound into a more home-friendly, vocal-or..

2/5 for me
Deeply underwhelming - he simply got it wrong

A quality album.

At least 4/5 in my opinion. Mano uses silence and space so well throughout the album, giving the more emotional tones a chance to breath and make more of an impact. Really really nice... reminded me a lot of Nico Jaar's debut.

Looking forward to the follow up already.

Niall makes quality music. I haven't been disappointed on anything he has put forth ... CD arrived yesterday...I am sure I am in for a treat :-)

why do albums have to be 'vocal-oriented'? I hate that

It is definitely the vocals that have turned me off this album, really don't dig his vocals.

completely agree about the vocals... overused and really nothing new.
very expected from mano, will not be investing in this personally

picked this up a few weeks back, 12' and CD, absolutely love it. Disagree with all the negative comments about the vocals, is it not nice for once to hear vocals aren't 'Perfect'? I mean surely he knows his vocals aren't world class, and I think he does a great job of facilitating them. It works as an album format for me, and from numerous listens I get where hes coming from re 'track/album' format. Couldnt care less about ratings, but love this album, a great and promising debut in my opinion!
