even forgetting the core roster like brunn, rau, moomin etc, there is no smallville without lawrence and no smallpeople without dionne

Julius owns Smallville Records, along with Lawrence, and therefore it’s pretty fair to say he represents the label, no? If we had booked Moomin, Rau, Brunn or any of the other artists that release on the label but don’t run it, then I would agree with you. We're giving people the chance to see a DJ that doesn't play in London very often in an intimate little space with a great soundsystem. There’s nothing underhand in that.

Well perhaps underhand was the wrong word, but both the event listing and this thread are called "Wax'd presents Smallville Records" which is why I clicked in... context being there's been a lot of great label showcases recently, e.g. the recent Laid one at The Hydra had Pantha Du Prince, Efdemin, Roman Flugel, Lawrence and John Roberts. Just a general point really. Another promoter recently booked Ryan Elliot and called it an Ostgut/Berghain night. That's well dodgy in my book. No doubt it'll be a superb night, anyway. Julius is top drawer.

Although it says ‘1st release’ above, this is actually the only batch of advance tickets we’ll be doing, as we want to hold lots back for the door.
