yes! 5/5. hope the next podcast is from her.

Before chris reminds us: she did two mixes for mnml ssgs, and they're great

mnmlssg.blogspot.com/2009/10/mnml-ssgs-mx40-dasha-rush.html

I think the downloads are broken on the site so here are the mixesdb:

Slighty odd questions... do male interviewees get asked how their biology affects their creativity? I can't remember but I'm not sure they do.

If she didn´t want to talk about it or thought the question unnecessary, she´d say so, believe me.

Protests about cigarettes and gender-oriented questions. The internet PC brigade won´t rest until the whole world is sanitized and uniform.

Нимфа в техно, одновременно и ведьма)))))
Ведь как можно быть одновременно такой красивой и такой успешной в настоящем техно..))

Get over yourself, it's got nothing to do with being PC. I'm trying to think of an interview with a male producer/DJ where male bits came up in the course of the questions in relation to the producer's work. If it's all the same to you, I think I'll pass on believing you, if that's ok.

Yeah, I cringe a little every time I hear those gender questions. While I'm sure it's not everyone's experience, most people I know don't bat an eyelid when a DJ/producer is a girl or focus overly on their gender when considering their music. Probably time for journos to stop making it such a focus and treating girls in the game like some kind of exotic fruit.

nice one Sanj and Dasha

LADA gig in sydney ended with a couple minutes of applause, an encore then another minute of applause. great performers, lovely people and Dasha is clearly very knowledgable and passionate

reflecting on who you are and where you come from can be very interesting and revealing. for example, this is the deepest and most honest reflection of gender biology in music i can remember reading so i'm very glad sanjay asked the question. i'm surprised you'd raise the fact you cringed when the answer was so good...

im guessing many female fans are interested in the gender issues, and i'm sure they notice the gender of a performer. i think its quite naive to not be concerned with a performers gender, i think it could be as bad as not being concerned with their nationality or history.

great to see dasha being featured. an honest, bold, powerful voice.

also really nice to see how the LADA project developing. their live show is great - really fluid and trippy techno.

Physionomy is everything in music; why you think Europe had no rhythm before Debussy and co stumbled upon gamelan and such at the Paris Expo

Yeah I also think it's stupid to talk about gender with every female who gets interviewed. Why always make it an issue?

Because it IS an issue? Maybe we won't have to talk about gender when the ratio of female:male producers isn't so skewed and clubbers harassing women and being douchebags isn't the norm.

No. She probably likes to smoke tho. Would you prefer she didn't flaunt her freedom to indulge so carelessly? Almost as tho it wasn't illegal or something?

What irks me more and is far more dangerous to our long term health is the fast and loose approach to grammar. It's 'all you need are ears'. Ruddy hell and I really mean that.

I can't improve on kubakom's eloquent appraisal above except maybe to add that Ms Rush looks like some rogue escapee from the Bolshoi ballet which is a fucking cool look to be blunt. The interviewer did forget one question tho - how closely related is she to eel-necked welsh footy supremo Ian?

Oh and if you actually read the article properly I think you will find it was Dasha that brought up the subject of gender differences and their influences in music production in the first place and it would probably have been rude of the interviewer to have not asked more on the subject matter.
