| RA News Planetary Assault Systems, Mala and a back-to-back set from Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann are highlights of the Detroit festival's initial lineup announcement.

 |
| #5 / Wed, 30 Jan 13 23:38 as an attendee since the very 1st DEMF, this year's lineup is a closer representation of where the festival began. Techno has had a severe lack of presence the last couple of years. It's great to see this music has made its way back with a proper and exciting lineup so far!!!
|

 |
| #6 / Thu, 31 Jan 13 01:59 Good first wave of lineups. Techno heavy, just the way I like it! Can't believe there will be around 60 more names added to this. Hopefully some more representation from CLR, and some more deep house vibes will be added. Already looking forward to May, see you then Detroit!

| #10 / Thu, 31 Jan 13 15:45 i know Techno is king 'round here but Mala is a real treat! In Cuba took the cake last year for me.
George Fiztgerald, Onra, J.Phlip, Rrose, TommyfourSeven. can't wait to see the rest of the line-up.

| #20 / Thu, 07 Feb 13 21:17 2013 will mark my 6th go-around at movement, I can't fucking wait. I love Detroit. I love Techno.

 |
| #21 / Tue, 12 Feb 13 04:29 Really nice phase 1. It would be great if you could get names like Ricardo, Maayan Nidam, Seth, Dozzy, Pedro, and/or other like-minded artists.
|
| |
 |
| #22 / Sat, 16 Feb 13 20:50 GOT TICKETED.
YES, AGREED, WE ARE DUE FOR
***@seXtrothler@detroit in the rain !: >)
Donato Dozzy and Cio D'or should be invited of course,
Ricardo in the rain again too,
and i guess berghainerz will be in the basement, where it gets naughty (the sound is fab down there if you stand down where you can make eye saccades with mr. dj!!!)
I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR BENbtbMARCEL ON THE LAWN BOUNCING OFF THE WESTWARD BUILDINGS NEAR THAT BIG RING THING THAT I LIKE TO CLIMB.
But really I love the @DETROIT is not in the basement anymore, but on the lawn where the sound is so fucking awesome bouncing off those buildings, it totally melts my skull into romantic acid synaestaesthia,
so yeah to the basement with the bergheinerz... feel you to bve ignored. THROW DJ BONE IN THE BASEMENT TOO!
Really looking forward to John Digweed at a fest.
that punk techno guy container should be in the bsement too.
ACTUALLY, container @PYRAMID @RB
margret dygas sounds yummy usually!
ELEKTRO GUZZI @ PYRAMID @RBMA PLEEZ!?! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
wicked afterparty soup every year.
That and sleeping on the island.

| #23 / Wed, 20 Feb 13 16:56 Yeah, this year looks really rad!
Lots of straight up techno. Seriously!
I like how they got old school dubstep on board w/ Mala and Hatcha.
Very happy to see Moodyman and Steffi adding some more house into the mix.
Dreaming for spring evolving to summer...

I love Juan, he's a legend but I really hope he doesn't play with Derrick and Kevin. I've seen them all play together and Juan was just getting in the way. Ideally they should all play by themselves. They're much better that way especially Derrick. He can get into a groove like no other.

| #25 / Wed, 20 Feb 13 17:33 (Edited: 20 Feb 13 17:51) Ben Sims! Wow he's gonna tear it up! Last time he played in 2005 he destroyed the underground stage. So much history and incredible mixing in that set, still one of my fav sets ever. I wonder if they're gonna give him the main stage this time?
This lineup is incredible.

 |
| #27 / Thu, 21 Feb 13 01:01 I liked this lineup better than Phase 1 although it is lacking the type of names that would really make this a "must see." It is good enough for me to start making plans to go to this year's event although the relative lack of Detroit Techno (and notice I said "Detroit Techno" with an emphasis on Detroit before you start pointing out that Phase 1 had most of the Techno names) is disappointing. Maybe Phase 3 might bring in some pleasant surprises.

Lol. If Nico Jaar, or any individual artist for that matter, ruins your experience in Detroit over that weekend, you're definitely doing it wrong.

| #32 / Tue, 26 Feb 13 21:33 (Edited: 28 Feb 13 15:35) THE WAY TO COOK THIS UP INTO A FANTASY:
Dj Bone
Robert Hood live machine manipulations like before
Some wicked ambient/downtempo/IDM *** ADMX-71*** WOULD DO THE TRICK. UNDERGROUND ARCHITEXTURAL AMBIENCE!!! (short on suggestions right now, MVO trio, Lustmord, Biosphere, Jan Jelenik, KFWhitmann, Ekoplekz, Chromatics, BeeMask, Sun Araw, Blacketest ever shit, Carter TuttiVoid, Vatican Shadow, some kinda freaky psyche shit!!! please?)
Oh and FredP and Levon Vincent would be dreamy, maybe at afterparty soup, where levon actually gets to spin instead of our rentacop shuttin it down.

MVMT is my annual pilgrimage to Bliss. Oh, and the lineup is sickening too

| #34 / Thu, 28 Mar 13 22:04 Oh gracious excess, i don't think i could even have time to see everyone in the first wave, but i will do my best to pack it in. Guess there is no 3rd wave lineup.

K@Dog is obviously Steve Mizek's turntablist bro alter-ego and should be avoided...
And I am excited to see Reference outside again. I have never encountered such deep, enveloping, futuristic and tasty blissfull techno! But maybe I just like that positive love vibe that reminds me of my roots in the christian underground?

| #40 / Thu, 04 Apr 13 00:53 THANK GOD there is no carola, dice etc... SO sick of seeing the SAME people over and over and over again. carola is prob the most boring DJ i think i've ever seen and the last time dice played the festival (B2B with luciano) he was complete and udder crap (though i will say that when he played TV Bar for the beyound EDM tour he was decent)... the line-up this year is AWESOME! Rrose, steffi, dettmann, klock, kraviz, jaar, PAS, lucy, dan bell, laura jones, francois k, jason kendig, T4S, the bug, squarepusher, silant servent, slam, J.Phlip, DVS1, dave clarke, art department, carl craig, TEED, soul clap, miguel campbell, MAW, matt tolfrey, bill patrick, reference, phantasmagoria, magda, deadbeat, dabrye, deastro... i mean shit, how can you beat that?? these artist alone make it the best festival on the planet... then you add everyone else and i don't think there is a festival out there that can come close to beating this... and that's not including all the artist that ARE NOT on the actual festival line-up that will be playing at the after parties around ythe city all weekend... all you people that are complaining about no carola, no dice, no luciano... shut the hell up! this line-up is WAY better without the same old DJ's that have played the festival 200 times already and who are lame & boring DJ's in the first place and do not deserve to play the festival again until they tight up and start playing some GOOD music for a change... you people who are complaining have NO clue!

I agree completely...except you forgot about Ben Sims. He's gonna tear it up for sure. If you've never seen him before you're in for a special treat. If u like Dettman, klock, Clarke, PAS, DVS1, Carl Craig, etc, etc you will be very pleased hearing Sims (especially in the D)

This is it buddy. No phase 4. I'm going to do a direct copy & paste from the article in case there is confusion: Detroit's Movement Festival has announced the final additions to its 2013 lineup. However, the extensive lineups for the afterparties have NOT yet been announced. Looking forward to that.
