Looking forward to this.

Don't grow up, it's a trap.
Vondelpark - Seabed cover
RA Review
R&S has had a new split personality since its late '00s renaissance. Half techno/bass and half indie electronica, the label is defined as much by floor-fillers as it is by the drifting serenity of Cloud Boat and Vondelpark. The latter trio hail from London and represent the somber side of the label'..

Very relaxed and laid-back album. I like it.

the reason it's had a split personality is because somebody just bought the brand , this R&S have nothing in common with the old R&S apart from the name.

First half is good, by the second half I realized they had run out of tricks. Should've been an EP. But, to the reviewer, you could at least get the album title correct.

@ceverghost that is not exactly true- Vandepapeliere is still involved with the label even though it is being managed from London. I presume it's because Vandepapeliere has his stud farm, family and other things to tend to, and does not want to take much part in the business side of things. I think you might be confusing R&S with Force Inc / Mille Plateaux which have nothing to do with Achim Szepanski these days.

i must agree, nothing exceptional

@blmstrn Vandepapeliere has nothing to do with the label , his own words from an old Clash Magazine interview , which I can find atm.
Either way , it's just brand reshuffling and any ethos or history was left behind a long time ago.

Nothing groundbreaking but nicely done and slightly (though not entirely) matured from the "soundcloud chillwave" stuff that's been flooding the market these past few years..

Sorry, can't find anything about it in the interview you referenced; http://www.clashmusic.com/feature/renaat-vandepapeliere-interview - quite the opposite; "Renaat reactivated Apollo in 2009 with a superb compilation album that includes classic tracks and new cuts alike. Such is his attention to detail, Renaat spent a year compiling the tracklist for the release."

Caught these guys live last year and enjoyed the show, a little bit indie with a nice laid back balearic vibe - bought the CD Tuesday and have been listening constantly. Depends on your viewpoint, but I'm getting early Cocteau and Factory elements in this and after a few spins it really grows.

Dracula is an amazing song, what a shit review...

Beautiful, organic, dreamy. I can see why an RA reviewer wouldn't be impressed but this kind of tranquility has its place electronic music: in my playlist.

it's a good album.. why would u rate it so low...
