this needs to be at that compound in bk

SRB? really? i hope youre renting a funktion-one for this event... the sound in there is truly awful (but im sure you guys already know that...)

i will pay a higher ticket price if you would PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT THIS PARTY AT A REAL VENUE. its embarassing as hell for our city to bring that caliber of artists to such a dump of a venue. no one is having fun there... not the artists, not the attendees... even the employees look bored.

christ, id rather see this party in a warehouse than at SRB. my friends and i may not even go now. this is a sad joke to play on the fans and people who have attended so many of your parties and supported verboten for years. spend the money and move this party to somewhere legit PLEASE!

Please change the venue asap. If you care about the party and the atmosphere that is created... SRB is not the place for a legendary night....

Verboten really need to open their club up already. SRB and Highline suck balls.

I agree with everyone else. this party is way too big for such a shity place. I start feeling sick as soon as I walk into that place. I love verboten parties but I miss when there was a variety of venues instead of just highline & srb.

Output fellas

Why is this at SRB, with so many other great venues like output out there that have a more superior sound system and layout, Rebel Rave could be much more ridiculous. Could even go back to the Well, like @nabeelkxx said we'll bring our jackets

Output is Verboten's competition. They will not be having any parties at Output unless they start smoking the peace pipe really hard.

output is to small for this event any way so is srb and highline this should be at a big venue with different rooms or stages makes this a real crosstown rebels 10 year anniversary this is a disgrace to such great artists and such a great label.......cmon verboten you guys are better than this!!!!!

Verboten is taking the underground scene and destroying the culture and purpose that it was founded on. Blkmarket is doing the same thing. From private lofts and warehouses to big scale mega clubs, there crowds are getting faker and faker, bringing in people who just want to do drugs and stand around criticizing the DJs every move instead of just dancing and having fun. The RebelRave party last year was second best party compared to RobotHeart Halloween party, for those who attended both know what Im saying. Of course ill be at Srb to hear Amirali Live and everyone else, its just a fake vibe and we will be jampacked with people just standing around with their eyes wide open. This is not underground anymore.

This is why I don't attend Verboten's events anymore. Great bookings, shitty venues. Honestly, I think they've lost their ability to throw a good party. Hopefully things change over the summer or else i can see this party fizzling out faster than it is at the current moment. SRB sucks, the Highline is worse.

how about you guys just throw an underground party for once and use a warehouse space? its pretty clear not a single person here is a fan of srb and not responding to this commentary shows how little you guys care. come on! this is not your average booking, show the lineup the respect it deserves. the venue is the sole deciding factor between an average party and a great party. you guys travel around and attend good parties, you have good taste in music, you know we are right. quit thinking the joke's on us!

dude these warehouse parties are getting shutdown left and right. atleast we wont have to worry about the music getting cut short at srb.

Verboten always does legal events, but we like SRB because of its warehouse feel and late hours. For this special event we'll be bringing in LOTS of extra sound, new video installations, decor, and lights. Just like our last Rebel Rave event in the fall we'll be going big and late on this one.

Perfect event for a place like the compound. Shame to keep seeing these great line ups go to waste at SRB

Unless it'a Funktion One or QSC or anything comparable, this place will continue to be the butt of the underground scene's joke. JBL's aren't gonna cut it. Thought you were gonna go big?

Is the club you guys are gonna be involved with opening this year?

srb's problems are more than just sound. its an issue of size and layout first and foremost. the lack of a good vibe is another issue as its more like a concert hall or a bowling alley than a club/warehouse. only hope now (since we know verboten wont change the venue) is if the event being at srb is enough to deter a lot of people from coming and leave some room to dance. ive been to some really crowded parties at srb and when thinking about it, neither the word 'fun' nor 'comfortable' have never come to mind.

I actually don't mid Srb. Been there once. It's not bad compared to a warehouse. And at least u get wood floors and a bar. Lol. Won't get shut down and still stays open late. There's not many venues left. Where would be good? Besides Output or System..... NYC been dead. Parties are about the ppl and the musik. Venue too but I rather b at Srb than Pacha. The crowd in NYC is mixed. It's hard to get a perfec party now a days. Someone is always going to complain no matter what.

The other problem is we are freakin spoiled (i openly admit i am in that camp) ... one wknd in nyc is like an entire yr's worth of music in any other city - including LA, Chitown or Miami (outside of WMC).

B/c the quality of the talent that we get - almost DAILY at this point - is so great, we have taken our critiques .. not complaints b/c they are valid ... to the next stage ... Hence the opening of Output and some others ... and if the Sankey's deal hadn't fallen through we'd have had another awesome venue open recently

Ironically, it was Verboten that really got things kick-started with its aweome line ups and has become a victim of its own success

Space is supposed to be taking Sankey's old spot

Until these cats get their own spot, I will take whatever we can get as long as lineups stay this good. DEF coming by with my boys!

Working on a really cool Crosstown Rebels projection mapping installation just for this gig.

I'm there

Verboten, a question:

When you call SRB a legal venue. that:
implies that those other spots people are wishing for are illegal?
That AINT true.

Without listing address (of course), the:
-venue where Basic held Lawler (and which used to be used a LOT, seems dead now I guess) is a licensed venue, and fits what people wish for in general (if too small for Crosstown.)

-venue where ReSolute held their 100th, they're licensed, good spot

-venue where Droid Interface 40 was held?
That was a great space, and not used that much, you REALLY should look at that one, and hast the right size
licensed place

- the first post-busted-Sasha BLKmarket venue
good size, nice underground warehouse, another place good for Crosstown
(which weirdly I've never come across since)

-Compound, oh definitely.
and on and on

BUT:
I've ask about licensed capacity in most of those places (actually do stupid stuff like that), and they have licenses, so you can't imply (most of them) are NOT legal.

So, Verboten, any reason why you wouldn't try to accomodate people's wishes, in future?
Aren't you throwing these things for the fans?

As to all the complaints above:

I agree that SRB is not the best place for this, and would have preferred a more underground type place as well, but SRB is not THAT bad.
Yeah the sound needs work, mainly the insufficient amplification, which clipped out too much when overdriven (that's NOT the speakers' fault, but the amps')

But Reboot or PanPot at SRB were decent events despite the shortcomings.

Highline:
Why is that supposedly so bad?
Main complaint about the place is that stupid club atmosphere they've tried to bring in by placing those damn space-eating couches all over the place.
Was better before they put that in.
$$$ rule alas.
Aside of that redo-issue the place is ok, and they have a great door policy, no hassles, no reentry problems, and so on.

So, stop killing your buzz before hand and have a positive attitude, warts and all.
Will be fun.

Projection mapping installation started going up today, very cool tribute to Crosstown Rebels.

Do you mean they always bust your balls WHEN you smoke, or
You ALWAYS smoke 'em?

if the latter, how does one spot you?
