| #3 / Thu, 21 Feb 13 18:42 Monsters From ID - Spatial Lobe at the beginning? sound epic. on the other hand, I don't like the tendency to put your own tracks/remixes/edits wherever and whenever possible.

| #5 / Thu, 21 Feb 13 19:36 Hell yeah...looks bad ass. This'll put DJ Kicks back on track, the last couple sucked in my opinion.

| #6 / Thu, 21 Feb 13 19:48 Seems he's slowly evolving away from that Crosstown/Hot Natured sound based on some of the track selections. This is good news

| #7 / Thu, 21 Feb 13 23:34 MJC was very standard and uncreative. Digitalism's was horrible.
Photek's was absolutely amazing. Hercules & Love Affair was also awesome.

In fairness, I always believed the Crosstown stuff was him trying to make a buck as the Maetrik stuff, while good and reasonably popular, never quite paid the bills.

| #14 / Fri, 22 Feb 13 16:31 Pretty sure he even admitted that himself in an earlier interview. Nothing against the old sound but have to say I am happy he's moving more towards the old Maetrik I know and love

Well lets be real, we all gotta make a paycheck. I'm in full agreement moving away from the Crosstown side - now that he's taken quite a spotlight he's more in a position to successfully alter the sound on both platforms. Still holding back on my anticipation, though.

| #16 / Wed, 27 Feb 13 07:56 (Edited: 2 Mar 13 14:00) FUTURE WILL SURVIVE
Hey girls, don't you know the break is over ?
We have to admit that we have just crossed(spent) a zone of turbulence new disco / house, and now it is of past. We are going to be able to go back at supersonic speed by surfing on meteorite Maetrik which does not dare to say its name. It is going to be nastier, darker, more futuristic, but always also groovy and mesmerizing. Just listen to the track "Shake it mamma" that he made with Danny Daze under the name of Jupiter Jazz, and you will immediately agree with this stand. I also think that the idea to take back old titles to revivify them with his own genome is a excellent idea. I am ready to take this rain of meteorites in the face, where do I have to sign?
keep a copy for me !

| #19 / Mon, 22 Apr 13 15:38 Utterly awful.
It's not 2002 Eric, when ploddy dull prog, where the only thing of interest being the occasional delay, was "cool". It died for a reason, cos it was shit.
If I want to listen to that kind of boringness, then I'll listen to Digweed's GU:LA.

Only other highlights are the Move D and Jaydee edits.
This comp ain't working for me...

| #29 / Mon, 22 Apr 13 19:05 Completely boring. That Eric Volta edit of his had me thinking maybe it was going to pick up, but they it went back to completely boring.
So, 4/5? 4.5/5? it's Maceo Plex, so it'll still score well, right?

| #30 / Mon, 22 Apr 13 19:35 I think this mix is going to be a classic made of classics with some Plexus blood inside. I have pre-ordered the '2x12'+CD' pack because I love that vibe ! Another great job from 'double E'. Thank you !

| #31 / Mon, 22 Apr 13 21:02 (Edited: 22 Apr 13 21:49) A couple of these tracks are at least interesting (Monsters from ID track was sick), and I appreciate his effort of trying to add a different feel with the editing...but I just think this sound in general is tired as fuck (no matter how you try and dress it up).

| #35 / Tue, 23 Apr 13 14:07 I'm a big fan of Maceo Plex and have dropped many of his tunes into my sets, but I must agree with a lot of the others here, certainly on the first listen (and I'll try it again later) this really didn't do it for me. Not quite the depth of sound you'd expect from a DJ Kicks. Not entirely sure what he was thinking with that horrid sax sound, and the horns and sirens on Rez-Shifter and Racing Tracks, no thanks. My girlfriend, who has great taste in music even closed the door on my study...

| #38 / Wed, 24 Apr 13 02:31 This one will definitely make some fans mad, but we were advised that this would be darker than ever. I definitely find this as expected, and actually surprised with a couple of tracks.
It sounds like a classic mix, but not old or dated. It feels natural and you understand that this was supposed to be the future of House music.
Now at least we can listen to 'the future' once more.
