| #0 / Wed, 08 Nov 06 15:32 Headliners playing at Global Breakthrough 2007 such as Circoloco resident Clive Henry, Cass (one half of production duo Cass & Mangan), Shane Watcha and South African up-and-comer Dino Moran will spin at the London launch party in November. There'll also be a special guest DJ announced closer to the date.
Global Breakthrough is a series of club events taking place in Cape Town, South Africa from February 17 to March 3 next year. The schedule includes eight parties hosted by labels such as Renaissance, Global Underground, Toolroom, Azuli and Defected plus promoters Pushca, The Diamond Club and Push. Other confirmed DJs so far include James Zabiela, Pokerflat head honcho Steve Bug, Notting Hill carnival favourite Norman Jay, deep house kings me, Lee Burridge, Tall Paul, MoS and Toolroom DJ/producer Mark Knight. The events will be held at picturesque locations such as a private beach, a wine farm, a castle, a luxurious mansion, an aquarium, a film studio and a waterfront warehouse.
All proceeds from the Global Breakthrough launch party in London will go to the Global Breakthrough Music Trust, a fund set up to help Africas budding musicians and DJs like Dino Moran advance their careers in music.
RA is an official Global Breakthrough media partner. Keep watching this space for further line-up announcements or sign up to the Global Breakthrough newsletter to get the latest updates. Check the Travel and Ticket sections of the Global Breakthrough website for details about flights, villa and ticket options.
The Global Breakthrough launch party takes place at The Key in London on November 9, 2006.

| #4 / Tue, 06 Jun 06 12:49 Cape Town fuckin' rocks! I had one of the best times in my life down there between Clifton, Camps Bay and the city bowl. Still remember the Gallery & Dockside Even the parties at the more simple La Med had a great atmosphere.

mmm ... really? Cape Town is a great place for a holiday ... but I'll be suspending judgment on whether it is a "global breakthrough" until I actually see some confirmed line-ups.

| #16 / Wed, 14 Jun 06 17:14 Soon soon! Round 1 in the next few days possibly, but you need to wait until September for the full line up. I just wouldn't recommend waiting until September to book the air ticket and a dreamy (cheap) villa. Earlier you book the cheaper it is. Holiday packages will be released in 1 week. Hopefully i can woo you with just round 1 of the line up and the locations we've scouted so far. Shall see yes.

| #17 / Mon, 19 Jun 06 17:25 work makes me a regular visitor to capetown, so might just have to schedule something for this. in my opinion it is the best place in the owrld for a holiday. Mountains, beaches off two oceans, vineyards and a lively city all within easy reach. was most impressed with opium when a friend took me there last month. who would have thought I'd have to go that far from oz to find a didgeridoo in a club. SA might not be the strongest teams in super14, but they are second to none for atmosphere at the games. still is hard being a stormers supporter

basically there are a few dj's who i wouldnt mind seeing, but still not convinced its a global breakthrough...
perhaps it is for our australian cousins, and our back coutry afrikaans, but meh...its ok...
the advertising sucks tho, looks more like a corporate holiday than a clubbers week.
must admit am tempted just because its somewhere different and is cheap once u out there.

Not entirely true ... some way to go before SA catches up with Ibiza or Rio de Janeiro on that front. Still, if you want to post "candid" photos of your sisters to try to prove your point, feel free.

its the advertising style and web pages, for me, that make it look that way.
cape town is fun, have lots friends from there and will love to visit.... understand the exchange rate is fantastic.
calling anything a global breakthrough is always a risk....
some good dj's playing as well as personal friends.....
just for me dont fancy it much..

| #44 / Fri, 29 Sep 06 10:07 Darren, it's a global breakthrouh for Cape Town.
This kind of stuff has never been done before. South Africa loves to party but most the kids in SA dont even know what minimal is.
We're bringing new sounds to a country that really needs change and a push in the right direction and the locations are breathtaking, its the perfect place to do it.. It takes time for a place to evolve. Ibiza started out with humble beginnings and every year grew bigger and more people came and the scene flourished. We're right at the beginning and that's the best part about it.
As for the web page, it's tricky, hard to please everyone. Thanks for the feedback, will let the web developer know.
