Dance music is a singles genre, and so here it is - the best thirty tracks that have landed on our turntables this year. But this RA Poll is not just a boring old list. To celebrate the end of a great year in dance music, RA is making many of the tracks in our top 30, and many tracks elsewhere in our poll, available for exclusive download for free. Details after the jump.

very surprised that full clip is number 1 !! Head Scratch

My fave track of the year is who's afraid of detroit. Very close second is mouth to mouth and then baby kate.

Ta for the free tracks :)

London’s world-renowned fabric nightclub is a juicy peach? A crisp apple? No,an onion. It has many layers and a soundsystem of such clarity that it’s been known to bring people to tears.......

solid rundown, but i really thought that some Eulberg/Ananda tracks would find their place near the top of the list. I was at least expecting DoppelWhipper to be in the single digits count and Bionik somewhere in there too

Personal Favs'06: Elektrochemie - You're my Kind and Troy Pierce - Grace(Anxiety)

All this talk about minimal and how its too minimalistic bla bla..
Its just music growing up.. so much bad stuff written about minimal and other sounds here, but still 80% of the list is minimal.. great..

I remember lee burridge and craig richards essential mix back in 2000, real music... dubby laid back minimal sounds... Good to get rid of all the crap prog, trance and crazy electro..

By the way, you forgot steve bug - smackman, luciano - father, pan-pot - black dog, les djinns (hello!!) and Radomal - Insomnia (AME remix)

stay tuned!

19. Ricardo Villalobos - Que Belle Epoque 2006 [Frisbee]

I dont`t think a track from 2000 belongs in the list of BEST TRACKS FROM 2006, no matter how much you love it.

thanks for the polls, as time passses so fast it's difficult to swallow every release, that's the use of this rankings, anyway we should all take a look back in the middle of 007 to realise which of this tracks were really something and which were just a party high. There are some that have been played so many times that you don't want to hear them any more. and some that remain. like baby kate's starting melody, the rest of the track is a little bit boring...

many thanks for your work, and always thankful for the podcasts. Slayer

my top track of 2006 was ichundu - hey (tiefschwarz remix). that or kaliber 8.2 . "full clip" is way overrated, and boring. and so is "mouth to mouth".

Next @ Kompakt 2 feat. The Modernist and Matias Aguayo
My favourite track for '06 was Douglas Greed's 'Delicate' (Hemmann & Kaden Mix) on Combination Records & my favourite album of the year would have to be SCSI 9 'Line of Nine' on Kompakt
