ABOUT DIESELBOY
A staple of the Stateside electronic movement from its inception, Dieselboy is hailed as one of the founding fathers of American drum 'n' bass. His passion for the music combined with his rigorous touring and schedule and first class productions have earned him a place in the upper pantheon of DJs/producers able to connect with audiences the world over. Dieselboy is consistently rated as one of America's Favorite DJs in BPM Magazine annual reader's poll, and received a nomination for Best Breakthrough DJ at the 2003 American DanceStar Awards. From Hong Kong to Helsinki to Philadelphia, the UK's Knowledge Magazine declares, "Dieselboy has managed to build a fan base that rivals that of any rock star."
Dieselboy's previous album, Entitled "The Dungeonmaster's Guide" in homage to his role-playing game days (the original Dungeon Master's Guide actually being the first RPG book Dieselboy ever bought), received critical acclaim for breaking down the barriers between drum 'n' bass, techno, house and trance/progressive house. Approaching notable trance/progressive artists, including BT, Sasha and Tiesto, as well as techno icon Josh Wink, Dieselboy embarked on a mission to create something unique by having these artists' tracks remixed by the some of largest names and hottest up-and-coming drum 'n' bass producers today. Dieselboy's continued mission for bringing forth drum 'n' bass' freshest new talent and pushing the boundaries of the genre forward, carries on with Dieselboy Presents The Human Resource.
ABOUT MESSINIAN
Messinian was born on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on April 25, 1979.He wrote his first rhyme at 11 and started getting in cyphers and freestyling at age 12. His early influences include Chuck D, Kool G Rap,
James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Rakim, Jim Morrison, N.W.A, Otis Redding, BDP, Paris, David Bowie and his mother Helena's piano and soul music. Messinian is into music of all genres and is completing more Hip Hop, Rock, Soul, Drum & Bass, and Experimental projects as you read this.
Messinian struggled through the adversity of poverty, homelessness, * addiction, daily fistfights, and other things we won't discuss here. He rose above all this with the power of his family's Love and Music.
Messinian believes that Love and Music are the two greatest gifts that can ever be given. When Messinian isn't traveling the world rapping at underground parties and raves, he is making beats at his studio in North Philly.
Messinian has performed at countless parties in the states and internationally including tours in Japan, South Africa, England, Austria, Macedonia, Serbia, South Korea, Holland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Australia, Costa Rica, Canada, Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, Venezuela, Lithuania, Belgium, Estonia, and many more. Messinian tours year round and once a year with DJ's Dieselboy, AK1200, and Dara as the Planet of the Drums crew.
About SpectraSoul
SpectraSoul is the alias of Brighton duo Jack Stevens and Dave Kennett, who although have only been producing together for less than a year, show what can happen when two creative minds combine in the studio.
Having both produced separately for a number of years, and sharing their music between themselves, it seemed to be a natural progression to begin working together to develop their own style. It was not long before the ideas began to flow. With Daves sample creativity and perfectionist attitude, and Jacks quick and efficient ear for a riff, it wasnt long before they caught the attention of theyre peers.
With Dave being involved in the scene from all angles since the early nineties, both DJing and Promoting, he watched the scene grow & mature before eventually moving to Production. Being part of the Repercussion DJs has allowed Dave to perform in such countries as Germany, France and Belgium, whilst maintaining his bookings throughout the UK.
After finding a love for music production in his school years, and learning the required technical skills and abilities, Jack progressed to the DJ side of things. After receiving bookings throughout Brighton and becoming actively involved in his local drum and bass scene, Jack has used these opportunities to spread his music to people he may not have otherwise known.
Taking inspiration from a diverse range of musical influences, spanning Soul to Hip Hop, and even World Music to Cinematic grooves, the duo explore the realms of sample-based production with open-minds, creating an exciting blend of soul-fuelled sounds & organically grooved beats that shine through. Musicality plays a pivotal part of the SpectraSoul sound, combining organic musical elements with low end frequencies to bridge the gap between creative music and up-front dance floor beats. This is a key aspect of the duos sound.
SpectraSoul provide energetic DJ sets showcasing the scenes freshest and most progressive tunes; drawing music from across the drum and bass spectrum. Expect a wide range of choice dub-plates from the likes of Commix, Logistics, Alix Perez, Sabre, D-Bridge, Break, Silent Witness, Friction, and of course the duos own music.
With solid DJ support from Commix, Friction, Logistics, Rohan Bassbin, Alix Perez & Insight, and their debut release getting picked up by fellow Brightonian, DJ Friction for SGN:LTD Spectrasoul look set to break the scene. SpectraSoul have forthcoming releases on Shogun, Horizons, Soundtrax, Nu:driections, and diverse Products.
