Looks great! Thank You Kindly!
Real Name:Gregor Schönborn
Profile: "Crowdpleaser produces upfront electro-techno music since 1999 : darkish, funky records with an unaffected and sincere vibe that proved crowdpleasing indeed, as his first single went straight to the number one spot of cutting-edge German electronic lifestyle magazine de:Bug, and his recent "Rather be" on the Mental Groove compilation appears on Tiga's "DJ Kicks" and was remixed by Thomas Brinkmann.
His live sets storm the dancefloor in a fresh, in-your-face style with a mixture of heavy techno grooves and electro overtones.
As a DJ, Crowdpleaser has played since 1996 in European clubs, among which WMF (Berlin), Optimo (Glasgow), Batofar (Paris), Berns (Stockholm), Weetamix (Geneva) and others, also holding residencies in Swiss clubs. His DJ style relies mainly on US and German techno & house releases, although Crowdpleaser is always looking for rare or vintage tracks to drop unexpectedly during his sets.
Part of the //schönwehrs design group, Crowdpleaser defines the visual identities of exhibition spaces, galleries and record labels such as Viking Music and Mental Groove; also producing soundtracks & installations in Los Angeles, Paris, Geneva and Lausanne while playing live and as a DJ in England, Germany, Sweden, France & Switzerland.
He promotes the Bronco parties since 2001 with DJ/producer Water Lilly guests include DJ Hell, Zombie Nation, Codec & Flexor, DMX Krew, Khan in different locations in Switzerland".

| #15 / Tue, 25 Sep 07 15:41 ok, there's metal machine music by Lou Reed, that wasn't crowdpleasing at all, but isn't the overall impression a bit too crowd-pleasing?

It's a bit on the cheesy side to me, but variety is still good.

| #21 / Wed, 26 Sep 07 10:28 really liked it. running smoothly through different styles. nice up the dance just like any DJ should be able to do.
play the so-called "underground" top 10 tunes of the moment any time and forget about being interesting. most DJs are boring. this mix is dance music in the meaning of where it all started, NY, bridging styles and influences to offer the best possible dance experience. style boundaries limit this experience.
you can buy all the latest trendy tunes and be a wack DJ. only a certain touch and feeling make it happen.

u r right!!! every dj have to have his own style, dont try to imitate others, its sound so original. Learn to hear new things and learn to appreciate the new sound. Its good and so hunted track. good set bro!!!. Damista

| #26 / Wed, 26 Sep 07 22:03 Crowdpleaser isn't really trying to please everybody, at least most of you here are not really pleased. i, on the other hand, think that the mix is really good. why, you're asking, cuz the track selection is really original. like LY said, its not the usual underground hits that everybody are playing this days (if its so underground, how come everyone are plying them). the mix itself is done really well. finally a recorded set / podcast that was done with actual turntables and an analogue mixer. and with the disco and vintage tracks his playing, its not so easy to mix, like he did. finally, if i'll be around somewhere crowdpleaser is playing, i'm sure gonna check him out, defiantly it would be much more interesting than a lot of average minimal / hyped / too much on beatport - dj.

| #27 / Thu, 27 Sep 07 01:02 I know most commercial mixes are faked but I thought most people doing the podcast actually recorded them "live" with 2 decks and a mixer. Is this untrue?

| #29 / Thu, 27 Sep 07 16:37 Its a nice departure from previous podcast and I like the idea of the blending and mixing to add a flavor to the set, we all know its not minimal its all about being eclectic, Crowdpleaser took that into account with this set, airight peace!

most of the promo / commercial mixes (and a podcast for certainly feets this category) are done with abelton or some similar technology. one more thing, the flow of the mix, combining old and new stuff of different genres. reminds me other swiss guy who did a podcast recently, Samim. samim's mix in overall was a bit better, yet he did it with abelton.

fair enough. just that the ''cheese on top of cheese'' comment was a bit harsh. cheers
