| #5 / Sat, 05 Jan 08 13:37 the original artwork for serenity, as pictured here, is a quote from ike & tina turners "outta season" album. we didnt know, that it could or would be viewed at as offensive. we changed the artwork, we are sorry if somebody took offense

| #6 / Sat, 12 Jan 08 15:47 I thought that this cover photo looked familiar. I did some research on the original Ike & Tina version and found out this it was a comment on how white musicians were co-opting the blues and rnb sound for their own, and the cover implied that Ike and Tina had to disguise themselves as white in order to compete. What does it mean here where two white German guys are doing that? I'm not sure, but I suspect it was mostly out of respect and interest for what was apparently a Grammy award winning album cover. It kind of does turn the entire message on it's head and makes you think.
We should really commend these guys for being sensitive and taking the feedback from here and proactively changing the cover art, as stated in Prosumer's comment. Not that I think it should have been changed, but perhaps sometimes it may not be worth possibly offending someone in the name of art (although sometimes it is!).
Cheers, guys!

 | RA Review I did a naughty thing. I made a playlist, one that might make Prosumer and Murat Tepeli uncomfortable. It’s called ‘ Amnesia vs. Serenity ’, and I leave it on shuffle for hours at a time. I wouldn’t have made it under most circumstances—or with nearly any other combination of albums—but in this ca..
