| #2 / Fri, 25 Jan 08 02:30 I think the reviewer of the project by Andrew Butler aka Hercules & Love Affair might be a little confused on the involved artist's. First off I don't think Andrew Butler had any writing or production credits on the Antony & The Johnsons LP. Antony Hegarty does list Andrew Butler in the credits (thank you) but aside from that he is not listed in any musical fashion whatsoever. Antony & The Johnsons did indeed win the Mercury Prize for his CD 'I Am A Bird Now' and Antony is definitely the strongest and most captivating voice on the the Hercules project. The lead single 'Blind' which is blistering to say the least comes with a brilliant club mix from none other then former Sound Factory resident DJ Frankie Knuckles (The Whistle Song). -Black 3000

| #5 / Fri, 25 Jan 08 17:10 Agreed ! DFA have really maintained quality control despite the waning of the dance rock fad and the early 2000s heyday. Some of the more recent releases are very interesting and very fun.
New York seems to be a thriving place for dance music again, which is great.

| #6 / Fri, 25 Jan 08 17:21 Agree with the above NY is finally starting to dance again which is wonderful...I think DFA are starting to deviate from the "dance-rock" format towards more of a disco/old-school ny dance revival theme which is all good...its definitely working! Look forward to the label blowing up big time in '08.

 | RA Review In 2001 and 2002, New York-based label DFA (alongside Output and, in a way, Gigolo) was on a roll in term of redefining underground dance music with a so-called “indie” twist—DFA with its own unlikely scene leader in James Murphy and a federative anthem in ‘Losing My Edge’. In other words, DFA defin..

| #9 / Mon, 31 Mar 08 20:41 So I'll be the first (& probably only one) here who does not like this at all. I just cannot get into it. Almost threw the promo out the window when I heard the bassline rip from 'Your Love' and I never liked Anthony's voice (mind you, he has the best voice on the album.) Not really a disappointment because I don't expect much from DFA these days but then again maybe a little because some reviews were building this up & up towards stellar regions. And yeah I'm into disco, Russell, old Chicago acid.

| #10 / Mon, 31 Mar 08 20:52 'its “To see you now, to hear you now, I can look outside myself” vocal at its climax is truly the album’s apex.' almost unfortunately so, because the rest can't compare.

| #30 / Fri, 02 May 08 00:07 Apparently it will be released in the US now but in June. Regardless I picked it up at Virgin as an import over the weekend and they were definitely hyping it over there...they had it prominently on display in dance and indy section. Overall I'm in love with the entire thing...Love it.
