I have a few of her tracks. Like her sound a lot.

Interested to see her at Fabric next month :)

London’s world-renowned fabric nightclub is a juicy peach? A crisp apple? No,an onion. It has many layers and a soundsystem of such clarity that it’s been known to bring people to tears.......

Saw her live at Benicassim couple of years back and at Fabric last year. Really impressed, and her Lust compilation is awesome.

Yes that's right, I wish I could find her CD :(
I can't find JC's albums in my country (Lebanon) that's why I download her tracks online.JC's albums are not released in my country, not even @ Virgin Megastore.
Hope anyone feels with my situation and share me a link.

Jennifer Cardini – Feeling Strange cover
RA Review
Of all the now-defunct Pulp nightclub’s alumni in Paris and the Kill the DJ brigade, Jennifer Cardini is probably the most strangely populist at heart. Occupying some sort of safe middle ground between Ivan Smagghe’s intransigent deejaying and Chloés genre-bending electroacoustic experimentalism, Ca..

good review. i really felt this mix missed the mark. it is a bit all over the shop and lacks coherence. disappointing. for a while, the kompakt mix series was amazing...

'harsh rating, simply because it says Kompakt on the box?' Anyone else share this view?

not at all. have you listened to the mix? it is not good. whatever label it is released on, this is not a good mix cd. so it gets a bad rating. makes sense in my books.

@chrisdisco
of course i have listened to the mix! and like most, i enjoyed it! So far this calendar year, its one of the best mix cds, along with Ellen Allien Boogy Bytes 4, MANDY's Fabric CD and Poker Flat's Dead MAns Hand vol. 6

Still going to give this a go despite the review. Was really hoping it would be as good as Lust which I think is a brilliant mix

Ha! Same here. Strange thing: this is a negative review which actually made me want to hear the record. And I quite like it too. Not as era-defining as Immer or Today but then no mix cd will probably do that again (or perhaps no mix cd on Kompakt.) But again, nice mix, trippy in a quiet way.

btw Rework hit the jackpot with 'Love Love Love Yeah' didn't they? That track, esp. the remix is omnipresent.

I think that 2 1/2 is a too harsh rate. With this good compilation Jennifer Cardini shows that she is opened to numbers styles. Yes, it is very different of “Lust” and all the better! The line Adam Kroll/Joseki/Maurizio is great and "May I" (Quarion remix) is a must for the beginning of 2008. “Push" (Lusine), "Arcadia" (Apparat), "A Mountain For President" (Principle of Geometry) make a good and moving conclusion. I often listen it and I am not yet bored.

I don't know if this album is any different than Mrs. Kitten's album or a band that goes by some lame name of 'Fuckpony' featured on Nic Fanciulli's Renaissance vol. 2 disc. This must be a lame brain on Jennifer's part. Can Stephane Gerald or anybody like Robbie Younan give a review on Dave Seaman's Master Series 10 at Resident Advisor.net?

not feeling the same as this reviewer. i loved the mix. it was refreshing coming from kompakt who i've been rather bored with lately. cardini's mixing style reallys add to the tracks and is able to bring in some drama to the mix without beating it over your head. i like the fact that you can tell a new piece is coming in. few djs are able to blend such a wide variety of styles in a smooth compilation.

Hello, i also think that thsi compilation deserves much more than 2,5 !!! This mix is not so easy to get in and to understand and this is true that it's a bit too broad (some tracks are very different from each other) but it's eclectism :-) and when you're in, it's very good
Cheers

Hola,
sorry but 2.5 is an egoist rate.
If u don't share any pleasure for this mix, don't think the others are like u.
I'd like to recall some words of miss Cardini: 'the emotion has no limit' It means - on my mind- she wants to share, so doesn't pretend to 'sound unique'.if any desapoint, just have to say. She starts high and have to go on. perhaps that... but not for me

Anyway, 'The Vineyard'...amazing, just amazing. In a way that track encapsulates the feel of the whole mix for me. Lazy, half-drunk, sensual.

(crickey...just discovered that it's from 1996.)

"Techno is voor altijd."
she was terrible in Ibiza... confused and uninspired are two great words to describe her

You know, it really shits me that people always focus on the star rating and don't seem to really take in the full grain and texture of what this and other reviewers are saying.

Feels like a lot of peepz here just look at the
**1/2 and then knee-jerk (off) a reply, usually with something like

'Two and a half! No way! This reviewer is a gaylord!'

I'm always surprised... I mean, you could say *anything*, and you choose to say that, to react to that...

This was a very descriptive review - those of you who think it's not an accurate description... well, why not use this wee box to write a 200 worder of your own. If you care enough to tell the world something, why not tell them what you think (beyond 'this reviewer SUX')

Well, that's what you get for having those stupid ratings. LOL

I'm totally in love with this mix now. I must have heard 'M4' hundreds of times but it suddenly sounded new and alive. The only thing Stéphane got right is the comment about that dreadful Apparat song, but even so, it's at the end so that's when I push eject. ;)

Review seems over-critical to me.
Alot of the critisisms dont stand up for me.
Personnally I think its a really entertaining, immersive mix.

How ever many stars shine down, what we have here is a very diverse and intuitive
read on the many different styles and creative musical expressions electronic music can take. Polar opposites almost, far distant cousins working together unknowingly to a grand and stately whole. This one release sets me back a tad to re-access what is acceptable and what works knowing full well Kompakt seldom misses. I like the step out of the norm. This has hip, cool, and edgy all over from track one. Ms Cardini functions way out of the box and those standing perplexed shouldn't worry nor spend too long judging the depth and breadth of an excellent, fresh, exciting, and horizon setting mix. I feel clued in and more underground than underground.

I definitely agree with two points:

1. The use of Fed On Youth was lame
2. Let It Be House was the only really groovy part of the mix

Hello, I was having a look to the post about the Feeling Strange of Miss Cardini and saw that you consider the M.A.N.D.Y.'s Fabric mix as one of the top of 2007/2008 and I want to say : NO!!! I have been really disapointed by thix mix after 2 or 3 times. It is really a boring mix in my opinion and wonder if someone after 2/3 year his still concedring thix mix as a famous mix?
On the other side I listen again and again the Bugnology 3 of steve bug or The Sci-Fi Hi-Fi vol.3 by Alex smoke 'specially the first part untill the "peace of mind" of Claro Intelecto
Iam also still a big fan of The James Holden - At the control mix (both cd's)
LMet me now please what is your opinion after a few time and different listening... Please tell me what are the mix that still get a place in your tracks list after a few month or year?
(I still love the U60311 mix cd1 by chris liebing - was around 2001 i think)

bye!
