FYI The Imps is actually a colloboration between Minologue and the Australian progressive act Decoy (Philip Rex and Ian Chaplin)

RA Review
Minilogue's Marcus Henriksson and Sebastian Mullaert from Malmö, Sweden, seem particularly interested in revisiting, and revising, history. Nowadays they're essentially minimal producers, but their early progressive trance days never seem far away, no matter how absurd the connection. (This may prov..

Great review Josh... summed up the album perfectly as far as I saw it: intriguing, flawed, long, engrossing, well made and ambitious. Plenty to go back to and throw away with equal gusto.

I absolutely love this. They've done really good minimal, but still with that comforting warm Minilogue-feeling! 33000 Honeybees is the best track I've heard in a while.

I like the second disk a lot too, kinda like a much less elaborate Defining Moments, the compilation from Chillosophy.

Incredible, delicious grooves. If I had to pick one, In a Distance is it, but the highlight is the whole thing.

Finally! The only sad thing is that Minilogue have gone far away from Leloo and Little Sisters, and firmly into jazzland. But they are still deities and must be heeded. I'm sure the upcoming Son Kite 2X should be more like Minilogue of old. Rock on guys!

ah, minimal chauvinism at RA? who would have thought!

If you think it's minimal that influenced the trancers, please consult son kite's first album (hint: it's called minilogue) and its obvious influences, such as shiva chandra. tracks from those albums bear more similarity to current-day minimal than anything that bore that name in that day (e.g., chain reaction stuff).

well i think the antique minilogue of little sisters was cool, but now with the minimal tendences, they turn to pretentious minimal, for ego, or maybe they are exhausted, of the psychedelic escene, may they want more popularity :p

this and the Gas boxed CD set is all you need to make this summer's cool as ever private listening party. heck, you can go one better and share the discovery with others. now that's novel.

they said it'll be out in mid 07, so waited over a year to hear city lights again (it was on their myspace in the begining of 07 and sincerely loved it), been a bit dissapointed though by the 1st cd and by the fact that they didn't include 'the first day of the rest of my life' (youtubed)

Both discs are great but I'm especially loving disc 2.
