Yes! really looking forward to this his SSGS mix is like having a little piece of sunshine on your ipod ever ready to go when you are. Totally agree with 'Well done my son' such a wonderful record, both versions.(033472 Edit) being my favorite.

This guy is the nads. Pure gimmick free stripped-back techno goodness! Remember hearing Warped Mind for the fist time on a 'blim podcast for Rinse and was totally mesmirised. No doubt this album's a belter. Let's hope the hype forgets to pay Sheddy a visit and he stays nicely underwater where he belongs...

Shed - Shedding the Past cover
RA Review
"…calling it Shedding the Past seemed to be a mere paradox… it feels so much the emotion, the feeling of the intensity and purity of club and rave in the early days, without resembling those gone moments…." In a fuzzy transmission floating between the seventh and eighth track of Shedding the Past..

This is awesomely weird. I love the early Thomas Brinkmann qualities this album has in parts, especially "flat axe." The slow development; bizarre, jilted rhythms; clickish beats. Requires some aural re-orientation. But then there's all the trappings of Detroit (Model 500, Cybotron, Kenny Larkin, Kevin Saunderson) lightly sprinkled in, such as the ambient washes in the background, the occasional crashing hi-hats. Wonderful spacewalk music.

The 'cheese factor' tune isn't so bad either. Nothing wrong with a little downtempo action. And it makes for a nice slow down leading to nebulous Waved Mind, philosophy and a brief respite before the pummeling. 'True. Techno. Music.'

It was such a horrible day in Brixton. The weather has been particularly rude this year. The insides of a vile leaden cloud cut down pedestrians approaching Brockwell Park. This mean spirited storm tore through cheap umbrellas like the proverbial hot knife. The relentless horizontal rain even robbed one elderly man of a pair of loose fitting bins. I was soaked and slid across the pavement in an embarrassing leg scissor. Warped Mind by Shed was playing on repeat and I was damned if i was going to take shelter. It was an exceptionally happy day. What a special piece of music. Looking forward to more wet days listening to this new long player. Bring on the storm!

this is one of the best things I've heard all year. Sounds so well thought out. I had just gotten done enduring a first listen of DeadMau5 (not all that great) and then put this on afterward... my God did it sound better.

This is what good production and mastering sounds like!(!) The Ostgut/Berghain crowd is coming up with some refreshing, imaginative techno.

Looking forward to seeing Shed here in Boston next week!

I was very skeptical about all of the hype but I'm glad to say I'm very happy with this!
To me this sounds like a nice marriage between the cleanliness/crunchiness of modern berlin mnml sound with the pads and emotion of old detroit stuff. Can definitely feel the model 500 pads in there. Nice.

the first time i listened to this i wasn't entirely convinced-the production was there and some tunes were great, but as a whole i wasn't sure...

i put this on yesterday for another listen, and my god this is the best record of the year. truly impeccable-a five for me no question. no hate for "slow motion replay" on this front. the last three songs are easily my favorite suite on any record this year-"estrange" is so beautiful. awesome record.
