| #1 / Thu, 16 Oct 08 16:32 I don't think they deserve an electronic music festival like this after the way they treated Grooverider. Sure, they can have for sure, they've got all the money to pay for everything but it just doesn't fell right you know! It doesn't seem legitimate! I mean, what kind of freedom do they have? What sense of fun and enterteinment do they embrace? I'm not intending to be judgemental but just ask my man Grooverider rigth there!
lol PLUR Everyone
Instead we should have more Festivals in here, Mexico! You can do EVERYTHING in here!!! 4 Sho

1. Grooverider was done because he unknowingly broke the laws of the country. The laws are extremely different to other countries but visitors should respect that. 2. Alcohol is allowed in the UAE. 3. Mostly expats and nationalities who are not muslim would attend parties like these. This would include females.
Do none of you read?

I'm RoNiN, taking part in the DJ Line up of Day 2 in Beirut, and I just wanted to say that Lebanon is the best undiscovered clubbing scene in the region (and I think everyone will back me up when it comes to this). As for dubai, all big names played there. So before commenting, just try to be less ignorant. Cheers!

what exactly do you mean by THEY? The UAEs population is made up of 85% expats, a vast majority of them being western. ive been living in dubai for 6 years and i can assure you that we have no influence whatsoever on any laws. considering this is a muslim country there are a lot of freedoms that we have. just the laws on drugs are very strict, but that is not only the UAE, take greece or turkey for instance. and the other thing: yes we DO need a festival like this, more than any other region in the world! i mean commercial djs like Paul van Dyk or David Guetta paying a visit every once in a while simply doesnt do it for this party hungry crowd. we need more underground stuff happening! and this festival seems to be a development into that direction. Arielizzho, and just for the record, i happen to have a friend from mexico and he agrees with me. so stop talking about things you have no clue about!

You don't deserve a festival because you support an undemocratic regime by working there. Money is why you're there - that's also the ONLY reason you get any dj's there at all. Surprise surprise, it's also the money-hungry commercial dj's who will play there. YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE.

YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE.
& it's the same for Lebanon...there are not people here for money... quote: YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE.
NOW THIS IS GREAT WORDS! I AGREE WITH WHAT U SAID! It's been years that we have the commercial DJs on the scene,it's always the same DJs who visit here,Lebanon most of them Trance which is not my taste of music at all. & some of "uncommercial" DJs who visited Lebanon turned Commercial here & still Uncommercial out there. BUT PEOPLE OF LEBANON DON'T DESERVE MORE> THIS IS GOOD FOR COMMERCIAL PEOPLE. Maybe 10-20% of clubbers are & the rest they make the scene worst. We had many events, right, because Lebanese simply COPY what other people do for first time. TOO many event organizers,90% of them UNorganized. More than 80% of male sex at most of events. from this 80% high number of gays, emos & other psychodelic sick people. A big number of KIDS on Dancefloor,(or FIRST DAY EVENT)sometimes younger than 14-15.. MORE than 60% of the crowd goes & wait at the door, get in early and stays till end of it...so they will be the first & last ones.so They will be satisfied that they paid 25-30$ for good. sometimes gunman army walks beside u while dancing.. you know what Metro,it's been 6 months I'm away of going clubs & events.I'm sick of this country's gigs. I don't hear the music that I like in my country. <<< This keeps me away of what I like. "YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE" COPY THIS.
