 | RA Review M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade first released their version of Laurie Anderson's electronic classic "O Superman" as part of 2007's Five Years Get Physical compilation. Despite cottoning on to a good idea, the first remix was definitely a water-from-wine sort of affair. Whereas Anderson's original is a..

| #1 / Thu, 23 Oct 08 11:01 I think Reboot did a good job. It's the only remix I bought so I can't say too much about the rest, sounds like I don't need to investigate though.

| #2 / Thu, 23 Oct 08 11:08 Quite enjoyed the review though personally disagree. I don't have much from the Get Physical label for the past couple of years though noticed this one (saw the Reboot, Matt John and Robag mixes). All three of these mixes are solid efforts for me, especially the Robag mix - am sure I heard Ricardo drop this at Cocoon over the summer in one if his camp party techno sets - worked a treat.

| #3 / Thu, 23 Oct 08 11:25 I'm happy to see that someone called things with right words. This 'cover-version' or should I say 'parody' is crap, which marketing of Get Physical tries to present as center pillar of Booka Shade discography, all-time legend?! Can't be serious... Sorry to say this, but another senseless release on Get Physical..

| #4 / Thu, 23 Oct 08 11:50 totally agree that just for starters; people shouldn't touch a classic like 'o superman' following the raping by booka shade a few years back, this second one was less painfull as a given fact, to comprehend. and when hearing the reboot mix out loud, it must be said, that this one actually really should recieve praise.
in a delicate matter as it is with this track (I for one was really offended that first time I heard booka shade doin their mcdonalds version) this really is a beautifull interpretation, where he gives a piece of him, and let's 'her' be a balanced part of it. well done mr reboot

| #7 / Thu, 23 Oct 08 19:07 Apart from enjoying any new scrap that Robag throws our way I met this release (like the original idea of 'covering' the track) with a cringe and a tear. Laurie Anderson's original is one of the most futuristic pieces of music I recall hearing when I was young. This is like printing currency bearing her image and burning it.

| #10 / Fri, 24 Oct 08 03:45 I absolutely love Reboot's effort. It's long, spaced out, has a terrific bassline, and goes several different places. Really a track to get lost in. None of the other mixes appealed to me at all.

| #13 / Fri, 24 Oct 08 16:49 this review is spot on. Mandy and Booka Shade suck balls all the time, nothing they have ever produced is up to much. Reboot's track is killer.

| #14 / Fri, 24 Oct 08 20:07 Love Reboot's and Audiofly's remixes, but even that Felix Da Housecat's remix is a bit more electro i think it is my personal favorite.
