| #4 / Mon, 10 Nov 08 21:29 Good article, good read.
I'm not old enough to have experienced R&S during the '80's and '90's...after this read I am more then willing to explore the backcatalog of R&S.

| #7 / Wed, 12 Nov 08 08:23 Great article. I have some old R&S drum & bass from Teebee & K (Polar) which I'm really proud of owning. A fine label.

| #10 / Thu, 13 Nov 08 18:05 As an old skool bleepmeister raised on the electronic sounds of the steel city the stuff released by R & S was for me a natural progression of that particular sound and it is in my humble opinion the greatest label of all time.

| #11 / Thu, 13 Nov 08 18:48 Between R&S and Rising High we had two of the finest labels of the times. CJ Bolland's "Rave Signal III" was the most awesomely pounding Rave tracks ever, but R&S tempered that with tracks like "Dominator", "Stella" and Rising High's Maestro Caspar Pound's own "Fever called Love" - so many great tracks. Musically, a fundamental label to listen to, if you want to understand what came next...

| #12 / Fri, 14 Nov 08 01:16 I'm glad someone mentioned CJ Bolland - sure Aphex and co are pioneers in their own right but tracks like Horsepower, Camargue and There Can Be Only one were defining moments in dance, espec in Melb for any Global Village crew out there...

| #15 / Sun, 23 Nov 08 23:28 I'm a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE R&S fan since I'm a kid. From the moment I heard Digital Vamp 'You Can Take My Body' and then seeing that logo for the first time, I was completely sold! Genuis! It's so good to see what Renaat has been doing with the label this year. The new releases and the remixes of the classics are all amazing...as expected! I would like to point out though, Second Phase is Joey Beltram AND Mundo Muzique, NOT Joey Beltram. I was really disappointed when I read the piece and every time Second Phase was mentioned it said (AKA Joey Beltram). Not true. It has always bothered me that only Beltram gets the credit for such a massive, influential record and sound. It was the birth of the hoover sound and I think credit should be given to both people...not just the one who's more popular. Mundo was always a grossly underrated producer who created nothing short of true, cerebral magic in the early 90s and also heavily influenced Beltram's production from that era. Which is clear in tracks like Revelation 'The Realm', 'Synth-It' and 'First Power'. He also did 'Vortex' on +8 with Hawtin and Beltram in 1990, which I just recently had the honor of remixing ...Anyway, just my two cents God I miss those days! Keep up the absolutely brilliant work Renaat!!!!

| #17 / Fri, 28 Nov 08 19:20 R&S Records is the type of label that changed my life. I will always owe them that, as well as (very) few other..........
