I used to always wonder if that pic was actually you.It had a real quality to it.

Did make you look quite young though.Wish id had all this musical taste at 17.Lucky you.

Quietly excited but not gonna make the same mistake with the massive anti-climax of the Metro Area mix which was... well I dont want to go into it!

His LP is good though.

I didn't have high expectations for Metro Area's mix album after I saw them beat-tap mixing on the cdj1000's in Room 3 some time ago. Not that you have to be villalobos esque in your beatmatching skills to put some good mixes together, but people who are good at beatmatching tend to be good DJ's and vice versa....

Subharmonic Atoms AND Farenheit 303! I am much looking forward to this.
I, for one, love the Metro Area mix - though I can't say I've listened to it critically.

Yes Yes Yes. Awesome producer and ace set programmer.

Happy New Year!

having heard a rough cut of this i can confirm it's awesome Bow

the lj kruzer/plaid track will be available for the first time digitally as part of this release - previously it was vinyl only, as part of a 7" series called Signals. there's still a few sets available from the label, it's a cracking little package Yum

There's a really good mix of his from yesterday (07012009) on Proton Radio, all Pallette stuff. If the Fabric mix is anything like it then it'll be fucking ace...

this is utterly, utterly brilliant. loving every minute, constant rotation since it dropped through the letterbox.

John Tejada - Fabric 44 cover
RA Review
It wasn't until I remembered where John Tejada comes from that I could finally figure out what had grabbed me about this mix. Of course—he was born in Austria and has lived in Los Angeles since he was eight. As hard and crisp and comfortably contoured as the 20 tracks he's selected for his Fabric mi..

Thought this was an excellent mix, one of the better Fabric CDs of late (Metro Area, lol... :|)

Excellent variety of tracks, and always nice to see an Orbital tune in there :)

Defo worth rating of 4/5 at least Resident Advisor Wave

I agree with Magga- this is the best Fabric CD that has come through my letterbox in quite some time.

Proper techno, done properly by a legend! :)

Really well done but its not something Id listen to over and over again tbh.

London’s world-renowned fabric nightclub is a juicy peach? A crisp apple? No,an onion. It has many layers and a soundsystem of such clarity that it’s been known to bring people to tears.......

Wasn't that impressed with the first listen, couldn't really figure this mix out. Will definitely have another couple of tries.

Love the end sentence of the review though.

This release get such hit and miss reviews! I'd give it a 4/5 for being so well constructed in terms of flow of mixing and having a distrinct beginning, middle and end. The last 3 tracks bookend proceedings with a nice melodic twist after the early tech-edged sonic onslaught... the Orbital track is expertly placed as well and give something unique to the mix.

Some say this is bland but Tejada is all about the groove and the monotonous driving techy stuff, but he does it so well and with a lot of energy and intricacy.

From the review:

'Farenheit 303,' an early, non-album Orbital track

WRONG - this was on the green album from 1991

Great mix, great energy - excellent groove and well placed tracks.

I don't relate to anyone who thinks this is boring. I've given it 5 or 6 listens and its getting better each time.

Much better than some of the more recent Resident Advisor mixes

I will have to join the "where the heck is this mix going" parade, unlike Robert Hood who made some awesome quick mixes the switches from Cristal to Phlogiston for instance is just really really weird and kills the groove entirely.

this mix is a killer, 5/5, the best one in 2008 and probably 2009 as well. the tracks sound so fresh and energetic. the first time i listened to it i started jumping around the room. enough said. thanks john!

had high hopes for this since I really like tejada's productions and the fact that this was gonna be heavily edited raised em even further.

I gave it several tries. But I just don't feel it. really dissapointed. it's not the track selection 'cause its great, its just that the mixing is so...I dunno ... forced?
I'm just gonna try forget about this slip-up by mr tejada because he is a great dj and a great producer.
