fabric has released some excellent drum and bass mixes over the years.
the marcus intalex mix stands out as one of the best i've ever heard, and the dj hype and high contrast mixes are good as well.

this looks like it'll be quite a good one.

This should compliment the existing Drum n Bass mixes on Fabric nicely and will be a wicked follow up from the excellent John Tejada mix which has just been released. I whole heartedly agree with Commix's comments on the state of the Drum n Bass scene at the moment. Even compared to just 2-3 years back it's taken a bit of a nose dive and could do with some much needed intuition and development or as Commix are doing reflecting on the past to move forward.

This is the best Fabric Live yet.

Unbelievable from start to finish.

On a visual note, its some of the best Fabric cover artwork to date too (apart maybe from the Steve Bug/Tiefchwarz/ Rober Hood 'mask' series)

The Fabric artwork is done by Village Green - you can check more of their stuff here:

on a musical note, really REALLY looking forward to hearing this one. Its going to be up there with Intalex and High Contrast...

I'm not really hungry, I just need to have reservations somewhere.

should be sick - can't wait. would have to disagree with 'the poor state of d&b' rhetoric that abounds at ra whenever the genre is mentioned. for those who are happy to play a record more than once, there's a perfectly good flow of quality material coming through.

should be good!

Commix - FabricLive.44 cover
RA Review
Throughout the years, drum & bass has seen a fair share of talent "defect" from its ranks. (A Guy Called Gerald, 4Hero and Boymerang immediately come to mind.) More recently dubstep has been a safe haven for producers who cut their teeth in the drum & bass world, tempting producers like Martyn, Brea..

agreed with maxbacharach, and it happens with lots of styles (have I heard 'broken beat'?). That 'forced' demise of genres in the musical scene is something that really gets on my nerves, as it is unnecesary and creates malevolous trends.

Mentioning Boymerang, an artist from 10 years ago, when you review a style that have been spread by some very good albums during the 21st century, is like talking about any indie groups and mentioning beatles again. Oh, wait...

This CD matches the Art cover in quality.
I haven't really followed D&B for the last 5 or 6 year as personally I think it lost its way & got caught up with to much Grime & UKG. This CD brought back memories of the *ahem* "good ol daze" of Desire & Roast.

Braaap Braaaap Fabriclive44! yuh hear.....
indeed.
I feel I Streetfighter lyric comin on...

Amazing mix!!! No pigeon holes neccesary. From the opening track it sets the tone for a wicked set.

Great cd, fabric keep pushing them out, villalobos, metro area, and now this.

GOOD TIMES.

I used to be a massive d'n'b fan from about 94/95 but my interest wained over the years. Just got this through the letterbox and slapped it on, didn't read any reviews or tracklisting. My instant thought was "oldschool" in a very positive manner. Dark, moody, with sparse, freaky beats - just the way I like it. Interestingly I did think back to artists like Boymerang on first listen.

Good work on this one Fabric - two treats in a row with the epic Tejada mix after loosing the way for a while.

beautiful album. had it on promo for a while now and it's been the perfect compliment to both getting ready to go out and the afterparty at the end, we've all listened to it so much. totally agree with everyone on the art as well, i remember seeing it on one of the posters a while ago and it made me smile.

Really good stuff. I'm not usually a huge fan of DnB, but this is liquid and dubby enough to get me going.

I've lost my taste for DnB over the years but this mix has me interested again. Particularly liked No Sunrise by OAK. sweet track
