Posts / 135 RA Since / Jul 2007 | #7 / Mon, 22 Dec 08 17:38 This list is ok.I don't really understand how Diva made itI really found this track awfull, boring and uninteresting. Orbtalife is also overrated even if it's a very good club tool.Petar Dundov 's Oasis and Chymera's Ellipsis should have been in the list.Otherwise it's not that bad.

| #8 / Mon, 22 Dec 08 17:46 Strange...I think the list is composed of nobody in particulars truly favorite tracks but tracks which everyone acknowledged were big this year..Like between tracks 20 and 30 for most contributors...I think the results are kind of bland, no? Its definitely democratic and fair though. Can't complain on that front

| #9 / Mon, 22 Dec 08 17:48 (Edited: 22 Dec 08 17:54) Also, sad to see no Marcel Dettman? Plain and Lattice were monstrous. Yup, and no Sons of the Dragon or Morphosis? Andy Sttot's Hostile? No Sandwell District? No Santiago Salazar? I thought this brand of uber-dark and heavy techno would feature heavily this year but I guess not. Too bad. Maybe it was just me seeking comfort in the dark side during this dark year.

Posts / 174 RA Since / Feb 2007 Location / Oxford | #10 / Mon, 22 Dec 08 17:50 This seems like a reasonable list. I thought 'Psychotic Photosynthesis" was 2007, wasn't it? If not, I reckon it deserves first place.

A remix is as good as a track. Sometimes, even better.

I will tell you how Diva made into the list. Its actually the best tune I can play at 2am in crowded club when I play. Maybe it is not in your opinion the most intelligent or original or putwhateveryouwanthere tune, but it was definitely one of the best dance floor tunes of the year. And check out the Track of the year chart, the list only made by choices of DJs (yes those same DJs that many here praise and vote as the best ones out there) - list that is made of monthly DJ charts from the best DJs in the world that contribute to that list monthly - Diva tops the 2008 chart. Well I guess we are all wrong then. PS. I would also make room for Dundov's Oasis in a chart. Awesome tune! what else can you expect from a Croatian

i voted for the Ican on Planet E, it was in my top 10 i believe. all ican records are amongst the best techno records of the last 3 years or so, theyre pretty brilliant. quote: Posted by cshields This seems like a reasonable list. it was on white label at the end of 07, i believe i got mine around this time last year. finally came out for real early 08. i did vote for his second 12" this year "the further you look the less you see".

For sure, that was one of the most beautiful tracks of '08. Voted for that one as well...Thought that track really captured the same dreamy / melancholy vibe as old Rhythim is Rhythim tracks. Didn't seem to get alot of buzz unfortunately...People should dig that one up.

| #22 / Tue, 23 Dec 08 06:19 (Edited: 23 Dec 08 06:36) interesting list indeed,. can't believe seth troxler's doctore of romance didn't make it. i'm bit surprised to see `i want to sleep` at the first place, defiantly that's very good track and i love it, but u can't put it in front of minimoonstar. and of couse i'm surprised that schneider/galluzzi's `albertino` didn't make it as well, if orbitalife is there albertino should be there too .) i think more or less i agree with rest, move d's drone, dOP's i'm just a man, nesrib....all this tracks r amazing, not gonna be surprised to see move d as best producer in 08 , add dj koze, seth troxler, appleblim and villalobos to that list too... those r my favorite tracks of 08

Psycho-somattic addict insane Posts / 171 RA Since / Mar 2008 Location / Berlin Next @ Familienbande | #27 / Tue, 23 Dec 08 17:48 I am surprised Grindhouse didn't make it, though is the most charted track and was played literally everywhere by everyone. But i don't really like it so fine with me. Also if I was expecting Sis it would be with Trompeta, not Nesrib. Still love both of the tracks, and am super glad at least on is in the top 30. Sety - Mogane (Guillame and the Coutou Dumonts) is definitely missing, Marco Carola had amazing tracks, amazing Heartthrob stuff... Anyway, will make my own top 30 when i have more time. Still a lot of good tracks here.

| #28 / Tue, 23 Dec 08 18:42 Grindhouse Tool made the remix list. Psychotic Photosynthesis was released in December 2007. It was after we submitted votes for the Top 30 Tracks of 2007 so we allowed it into this year's Poll.

| #32 / Tue, 23 Dec 08 22:17 (Edited: 24 Dec 08 03:40) agreed. where the fuck was ellipsis? dear oh dear. not so sure about the no. 1, either. very good groover, but surely not the tune of the year... for me, at a push, it's vancouver by martyn (natural selection my arse), closely followed by convextion's solum ferrum and scuba's tense.

Posts / 47 RA Since / Sep 2007 Location / Los Angeles | #39 / Thu, 25 Dec 08 05:13 (Edited: 25 Dec 08 05:54) I don't want to be that pissy person, who complains that "my songs" aren't up there. These are good and decent tracks. But upon rereading these lists, I've come to the conclusion that (dare I say) is one dimensional (ie deep house). There were some amazing, original, unique tracks that were made in '08, and I guess they won't ever get recognition. Because they go beyond the obvious: Seph - "Obsure", Rodriguez Jr. - "Pina Colada", Brett Johnson - "Gypsy Blue", Julien Chaptal - "Luther's Finest", Acid Circus "Unkle Jak" etc. etc.
